Note
slept:7.0 weight:182lbs

My back is still a little stiff this morning. The stuff I put on it is really good - besides being odorless, it puts out good heat, especially when kept well covered.

Another one of those "was going to" days. Except my lower back is very sore today (4 Advil knocked it down to bearable, and a medicated rub has helped some also), so it seemed better not to pound the pavement as I had planned. I think it is from carrying the backpack with the controls on Saturday.

Catch up all my ratings from the last week:

Yup, I have been replacing water with diet coke, and eating junk with a vengeance (sort of).

Misc (THE DVD) 40:00 [2]
slept:7.0 weight:182lbs

HC DVD followed by 20 pushups. Feeling kind of weak tonight.

Two announcements - my daugher, Sarah (26), got engaged yesterday. She called about 10 last night after coming from the Maryland/UNC game (Maryland won). I was in bed - I thought I was awake when the phone rang - but I didn't remember she called until about lunchtime today.

The second thing is that I gave my Boot Camp notice for the end of the March session. I was obligated until then. Obviously, from my lack of attendance recently, I am not enjoying it anymore, so why continue to pay to attend less and less.

Orienteering race (Fork Union Orange) 57:33 [4] *** 4.73 km (12:10 / km) +85m 11:10 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Ice Bugs - Red Storm

Woke up at 1:30 AM after crashing at 7:30 last night. Was awake for a couple of hours, but I was able to sleep for a bit longer.

Dodged the storm out of the DC area by coming down yesterday.

Helped with the epunching for a while, and then ran the Orange course. I didn't feel like visiting the controls from yesterday, and I also wanted to avoid the mile to the start.

Won Orange, and only revisted one control from yesterday from a different direction.

Weather kept the QOC attendance down, but MHS JROTC and 4 USNA mids showed up, and a handful of others.

Roads were wet but clear for the trip home.

It was a great weekend at Fork Union.
