Orienteering race (Wheaton Yellow) 19:57 [3] ** 1.96 km (10:11 / km) +45m 9:08 / km
shoes: Pink!! Ice Bugs

Garmin: 1.4 miles 38 m climb

I was so sure I had broken 10 min/k. Bummer (just a little).

Following the trend for 2010-11, there was another fine turnout for the QOC event - 186 starts (10 of these were second courses).

Just wanted to run and not think too hard but think a tiny bit. So, Yellow followed by White (both list as non-competitive in the results since I can't keep winning the Yellow course).

Cold day made a little better by being in the O' Mobile. Though it let me down a little today. When I wanted to start the car for some heat, I discovered the battery was dead. I had left the car in the Run position when I had lowered the back window. Thanks to Barry N for offering cables and Robert H for bringing a portable charger and getting me going again. Issue was perhaps related to another problem discovered that the fuse to put said back window back up was blown. I would have driven home with it that way, or made a ghetto wind block, but Nadim puzzled through checking the fuse and we got it working for now. Thank you Nadim! My core was COLD on the way home, and I can't imagine having driven with the window open.

Finally, a huge thank you to Roger for helping to unload the car.

Orienteering race (Wheaton White) 14:45 [3] ** 1.7 km (8:41 / km) +30m 7:58 / km
shoes: Pink!! Ice Bugs

Garmin: 1.15 miles 28 m climb

A really good day all the way around. With Heidi (and David) as the meet director, I knew things would be done well, and they were. I had help on the outside throughout the day, and people were a little more informed when they stepped up to the window to give their information.

And, when I came back from my courses, there wasn't a huge problem waiting for me! Though, I still need to figure out why the printer port keeps going to "unavailable." Unlike the last two meets, today we were able to give everyone splits, albeit a bit backdoor.
