Oh dear.
1 Couldn't understand any of the contours out of the start but compass and pacing and saved by a cairn
2 compass and pacing and backbearing off a cairn
3-7 were ok
8 crisis of confidence and lack of understanding of landshape -> 3 minute wander
9 careful and confident bearing and sighting off a distant building meant I ran 15 degrees right of the line, almost ended off the map and dropped another 5 minutes. A ~18 year old aske me where we were 2/3 of the way along the leg - I answered (truthfully) that I didn't know.
Next few were ok until I dropped another minute at 14

I wonder if the shape of the land is rather hidden by the enthusiastic use of form lines - I certainly had great trouble reading the shape in a few places, although that doesn't excuse my inability to follow a bearing!

JK Sprint
Wobbled to 1 and may not have picked the best route to 2, also confused on the way. Other than that pretty clean. Fun if not too technical.
Didn't like the extremely subtle distinction between hedges (allowed to cross) and hedges (forbidden to cross). Both are dark green lines with slightly different amounts of black in them. A slight misregistering in the printing between green and black didn't help. Sprintmeister Strain had similar problems (although at much higher speed).

Surprising 4= and only 12 seconds off the lead.
