orienteering 16:51 [4] 2.6 km (6:29 / km)

Session # 8 of the Sprint Camp. UBC - west set by Dan Coombs and Thomas. Fast race. Mostly on the pavement which hurts after the full Saturday. Made it as the only woman in top 25 for chase start. Louise was sick and Angela was slightly slower, do not know where I took the energy to run, maybe the coffee from Kits coffee at 8 in the morning. People showed up very early for this event.

orienteering 18:03 [3] 2.8 km (6:27 / km)

Session # 9 of the Sprint Camp. Jericho beach by Dan Coombs and Thomas. Started as the only woman with the last men in the chase start. They got me already on number two and were faster. Ended up coming ahead of Rick B. who was ahead for a while. Was alone and slowed down for the last two loops.

Note

Session # 10 - organizer of bonus event at Acadia. Sun!
Feel pretty exhausted from all that, especially do not want to hear that GVOC printer for a while (good the ink ran out by now). It went very well and people left with smiling faces.

orienteering 20:15 [4] 1.9 km (10:39 / km) +45m 9:32 / km

Session # 3 of the Sprint Camp- WRE event at Bike park in Surrey. Map made by Magnus, trail maze with some green vegetation, some contours and tons of intersections coming very fast. Made a terrible mistake on the first control. Probably I was just too excited and ran a double distance all the way to number 10 (the fence on the way did not stop me) where I actually checked the code to find out where I am... Have no explanation for it, left at least 2 and half minutes there. People are hopefully never going to look at my first split. Do not understand how I recovered from that, but after that I did well all the way to the end. That was pretty intense concentration. 3rd woman after Louise and Angela.

orienteering 26:08 [3] 2.3 km (11:22 / km) +80m 9:41 / km

Session # 4 at Centennial Park, a fresh map made by Magnus. Route choice training between two deep ravines. Some nasty stairways on the way. I love to run on a map I do not know. Took it easy.

orienteering 28:12 [3] 3.0 km (9:24 / km)

Session # 5 of the Sprint Camp, new map of Crescent Park. O- tervals with Angela and Jean-Michel, Louise, Kerstin, Tori and Emily joined us too. Kept switching the versions around. Pretty similar speed, did not have too much energy left. Fun beside the rain.
3
Picking up flags after O-tervals with Magnus.

Note

Session # 6 - revisit of the bike park. Went to check my control number 1 and walked to it a few times, it did not take more than 1 minute to walk to it from the start flag. Maybe I will apply the rule: walk to the first control...

orienteering 19:30 [4] 2.8 km (6:58 / km)

Session # 7 of the Sprint Camp. Farsta by Meghan in Minoru Park, muddy and rain. Felt a bit like a horse during a horse race, kept hearing the noise of the splashing mud and tried to keep running fast, but nothing left in my legs, so let Angela go in the last loop. Fun! People running all around, some crazy people (Nate and Thomas) running through the creek - up to the waist...

orienteering 15:05 [4] 2.1 km (7:11 / km)

Session #2 of the Sprint Camp. Athletes village - map made by Louise. Had soooo much fun. I did not punch any faked controls and beside number 5 when I ran to 11 for a moment and stared at it for 20 seconds I did not make any mistake. The little island was tricky. Ended up ahead of Nathan and Mike Rascher.... they had some penalties. First woman.
2.1
Did not have time to do the warmup False Creek session.

skiing 1:05:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:25 / km) +160m 5:05 / km

XC Skiing at Cypress instead of WET before the sprint camp. 8 people came and we were not alone on the mountain. Tons of fast juniors and groups of skiers. High energy around., people flying in all directions. Skied with Jackie who was keeping pretty good pace and not allowing breaks. It is good for me to ski with someone slightly faster. Cold at the end.

Note
