Continue to feel better. Lukas is also a little more energetic (not that he was terribly tired before) and snotty, and now confirmed positive with an antigen test. Melissa's still symptom-free and negative. We're abandoning my isolation since there's no reason to keep me from Lukas anymore, and Melissa's exposure to Lukas is almost certainly more risky than exposure to me, at this point. Melissa's pretty happy with her immune system right now, even did a little dance. Hope it stays that way and we can be all done with this by Friday!

Looking for a reason to come to Tucson in December? I've got a great one!

We're hosting a rainwater harvesting workshop on Dec 3-4 at our house. Basically, under the guidance of our guru Emma, you'll help us move dirt and rocks and plant stuff. You'll learn rainwater harvesting principles and we'll feed you! It'll be awesome!

Then, on Sunday the 5th there's a local orienteering event at Ironwood. It's a whole long weekend of fun, almost too good to be true. Plus, you know that I'll be extremely unlikely to infect you with covid.

Come on down!
10 AM

Hiking 30:09 intensity: (59 @0) + (28:19 @1) + (51 @2) 1.85 km (16:20 / km)
ahr:111 max:147

Another backyard walk, a little more briskly this morning. I feel an order of magnitude better than yesterday. I've got residual congestion and snottiness, and I don't think it would feel great to do anything vigorous like running, but it seems like I can actually sit and concentrate on some of the items on my every-growing TODO lists, so that's great.

Lukas definitely has sniffles but is otherwise in good humor. Melissa is still symptomless. My mom is (quite reasonably) considering cancelling her trip. :(

Hiking 30:13 intensity: (7:20 @0) + (21:36 @1) + (1:17 @2) 1.68 km (17:59 / km)
ahr:105 max:133

Felt worse yesterday afternoon and evening, fever came back and I was a bit groggy. Interestingly, Sp02 was at 96% last night but up to 99% this morning. We just got the pulse oximeter so I don't know how common these numbers are.

I felt a bit better when I woke up this morning but I'm going to assume I continue to have okay mornings and blergh afternoons until I'm recovered. I did decide to take advantage of the morning feeling and go for a walk in the back yard. We don't have a very big back yard so 30 minutes of walking was a very large number of laps (more than 50?). I thought it would be boring or I'd want to change up my route or switch directions but it was actually sort of meditative. It was nice to be away from a screen or book and be outside. Maybe I'll do it again later.

Lukas appears to be a bit under the weather today. :(

Still feel more or less the same, like I have a bad cold. I'm congested and tired. It's not terrible but I'm only about half functional, and I have a lot of feels. First, I'm trying not to get stressed out about all the things I have to do (between the world games, swsw, and the new job) and don't have the energy for. Extra stress won't make me get better faster. Secondly, I'm alternating between annoyed and terrified at the fact that after all this worry about sending Lukas to school, *I* may be the one to bring an infection to the other two. Also, it really sucks to be confined away from the family.

0/10 do not recommend.

It turns out "it's probably a cold" was wrong this time, as I have tested positive for covid. Big sad face. My symptoms are mild (see yesterday), but the fact that I have symptoms at all makes me very thankful for being vaccinated.

The goal and hope now is to keep Lukas and Melissa from being infected. I think it's going to be a long 7-10+ days here. :(

Running (road) 22:19 intensity: (10 @0) + (6:22 @1) + (15:06 @2) + (5 @3) + (36 @4) 2.81 km (7:57 / km) +2m 7:55 / km
ahr:130 max:171 shoes: New Balance 880v10

Run/walk with Melissa, trying to help her get on track training for *her* trail half marathon (in February). We jogged 3 min/walked 1 min with 2 pickups at the end. About 10 minutes walking before, 5 minutes after.

I feel pretty good after Saturday though my right hip is tight. I blame driving.
5 PM

Feeling kind of rotten today. General malaise, bit of a fever. Hopefully it is very temporary.
