Fourth leg for the NSK team. First objective was to better our placing from last year (178?), which seemed like a no-brainer. Top goal was to break 100, and I must say I was not very confident that we could.

Started out with a solid run from Louise, passing off to Emma in good position, 124th, about 5 min down from the lead. By the first radio she was in 44th (!!) and handed off to Ingeborg in 40th (!!). That's some holy shit good running right there, and she had the 19th fastest time on the leg (!!!). Ingeborg also had a solid run and passed off to me in 75th. I had a good run, no real mistakes, pretty good running, but some non-optimal decisions and stopping, and I felt like dozens of 4th leg runners passed me out there. I felt top 100 slip away but kept chugging along. Apparently it was far fewer than I thought (or they were running circles past me making mistakes) (or the masses of 3rd leg runners in my way made it seem like more) because I finished and we were in 87th, well into the top 100. Woo!

For some reason unbeknownst to us our team was selected to wear GPS trackers. Actually, I suspect it's that the GPS units were assigned before team entries were due, and they didn't realize that not a single one of our 23rd place TioMila team members were running this race! Doesn't matter, this means I can easily watch myself versus the top teams:

2dReRun (fun because you can just click on a spot to 'mass start' everyone there) or gpseuranta.net (which might have the same capability but I don't know about it).

This year the arena setup was pretty good and I did not feel stressed out and suffocated by all the people, so that was good. The terrain was not awesome but it was WAY better than what we trained on on Friday, so that's also good. I was also able to sleep, so that's three good things. That's a good place to stop, no?
