Work to the top of Noname Hill by the most direct paved route. My legs are pretty tired from the last two days of tough runs. There was little joy in today's run, except for being out in shorts weather.
Now that spring is here, the construction (incursion) has commenced with (as JFK said) renewed vigor. The grading is further along. I noticed two things that surprised me. One is that the erosion fences have failed at the foot of an extremely steep newly-built roadside, where they were attempting to prevent sand from washing into wetlands. Hmph. I found the other when I ran to the end of the stripped, developed area, into the woods beyond, and looked for my traditional turnaround spot. It's gone. They've extended the stripping fully past the top of the hill, so that the trail, where I eventually found it, is already sloping down.
After turning around for work, I noticed a ladder propped up against a bare tree, and elsewhere, a pine tree that was uprooted, partially tipped over. The thought came to mind how the Whos house looked after the Grinch took absolutely everything off the walls and from the fireplace, leaving only bare plaster. I sure hope the economy turns around soon. It would really suck to build a dozen McMansions and have them sit empty. :-{ P
