Running hills (Fell/trail) 55:18 [2]
shoes: New Balance MT110

Met Neild at the Latrigg carpark.
Up the main Skiddaw path and then veered off to bag Lonscale Fell. Windy and stinging drizzle with less than 100m visability up there. Talked about the FRA relays yesterday.
Went W along the fence to Jenkin Hill and hit the main Skiddaw track. Glad I was wearing tights, Icebreaker, OMM jacket, gloves and hat... even put my hood on (for the first time ever whilst running) but mainly because it wasn't velcroed down and had started flapping.
Had I realised how close we were to Skiddaw Little Man I'd've been very tempted to bag that one aswell.
Followed the track all the way back so I wouldn't slip in these shoes. The light was failing.
Several physical gripes but I was determined to use the daylight before the clocks change at the w/e...
L) patellar tendon a bit achey on the descent. Sore R) Achilles. Think it's because I forgot my exercises Fri and Sat.
L) lower back and L) side of neck sore today- not really whilst running though. May be from some of my falls yesterday. Discovered a blood blister on my R) knee and bruising on my R elbow last night!

Running warm up/down (Road) 8:05 [3]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190 worn (2)

3 and a bit laps of the "arena".
12 PM

Running race (Fell) 1:15:00 [5]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190 worn (2)

3rd leg at the British Fell and Hill Running Relay Championships.
Lost ~90 seconds on the way to 2. Very confused! Following GG didn't work.
Actually took 1:35:15 to get the dibber around but Deegan blew up in the final stages so I've logged accordingly! Looking at the splits of the guys we were running with I think we lost 2:40 from the stile above CP5 to the finish. I was walking and jogging over to 6 to stay in sight of Jon.
Got from 11th to 3rd at one stage. Finished in 7th place, John Brown held it on the last leg.
8th fastest leg 3. Could have been 5ish mins quicker with Chris Robinson.

Running race (Fell) 20:15 [4]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190 worn (2)

There was no way I could honestly log the whole race as 5/5. 4/5 is pushing it a bit!

General Strengthening 1:45 [2]

30x eccentric Achilles.
Iced the instep of my L) foot afterwards... bit bruised from some slate scree running.

Running hills (Fell/trail) 41:04 [2]
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 old (4)

Arrived at the event centre (NW and above of Llanberis) and got roped into helping to turn the commentary trailer through 89 degrees with GG, Kris Jones and Eryri.
Saw Ted, Sam & Emma from Wharfedale and Carl Bell & Jen (again after Chester services) just before we head off.
Rejoined the GIbbeseses, Annie Conway and John Brown to set out on leg 4 (John and Annie's leg) in pleasant but overcast conditions.
Cruised along the roads and trails befor slopping across some fields and heading up the fell towards Moel Ellio.
Walked the steeper stuff and have logged it seperately. Astrid and Annie stopped for a decent natter with Helen Berry while we men-folk got cold.
Astrid and I (both being designated navigators for leg 3 tomorrow) had a little look off the edge over the tarn and discussed some probable route-choice legs. Turns out we crossed a few stiles we would race over and picked the crux of the route between 2 and 3.
Rain started whipping in up here and we turned for home at the stile at 660m eleveation (Moel Ellio being 726m). I was very glad I'd worn tights, gloves, a buff and brought my OMM jacket!
Long descent down the spur and then picked our way through the technical taped route to the finish.
Plenty of little stops to discuss things. Tom seemed very sure Deegan should do the dibbing tomorrow so that I could concentrate on the nav...

Elliptical trainer 10:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Free 3.0 V3

Good stretch-out afterwards. Getting warmed-up for a good stretch was the entire point of going really.
No eccentric Achilles today after a meal in Ulverston and stopping at Mike's place.

Running hills (Fell/trail) 1:00:49 [3]
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 272

Parked up the hill from The Pheasant. Ran through the woods and up to Sale Fell before heading up Ling Fell into the moonrise.
Over the shoulder over Sale before descending to the car.
Worked the climbs.
Hamstrings a bit tired. R) glutes still achey. Didn't feel the quads until almost up Ling.
Had invited Neild. He declined citing inflamed Achilles. He texted me later saying he'd been up Sale because it was such a nice night!

Running (Trail/grass) 51:56 [3]
shoes: New Balance MT110

Sheepmount carpark through Willow Holme (under the railway bridge next to the Caldew) down to the Eden just before the disused railway bridge (having added a minute on to the usual route across the playing fields). Out to Grisdale along the Hadrian's Wall Path before going further along it than before. Got onto the path and got the full barn-yard smells of Park Farm before following the (very well marked) path to an on little rock slab bridge called Sourmilk Bridge. Up onto some higher ground with a steep bank down to the floodplain. Got to a gate that led down the bank not far from Kirkandrews-on-Eden in just about bang-on 26 mins and turned back. Could extend this through Beaumont for a run that's over an hour.
Hamstrings a bit sore from yesterday, glutes somewhat too. L) calf a bit tight.
Good stretch-out afterwards.
