Reformer 1 with Yi. Some interesting info: while I have been away from this with COVID the last two weeks, so has our friend Marsha, and so has the instructor for this class, Yi. It doesn't really seem like a place that would have a high risk of transmission, but it certainly seems at least likely that it was the place in this case.

Same outing as Saturday, seemed to go a bit better for both of us. Windy!

Note

Quite a yo-yo, this COVID recovery. I had tested negative on a home test, did a PCR lab test afterwards at the pharmacy just to confirm and got the result this morning, Positive. Discouraging. So I will test again. See if I can get it right.

This on the heels of a difficult night. Woke up in the middle coughing and coughing some more. It was quite windy, and with the slider open I was uncomfortable anyway. As soon as I closed it, the coughing stopped and I could get back to sleep. Not sure if Rhonda ever did.

Just to see how it would feel. The formerly standard backyard outing of two dog loops seems a little much these days.

Down to the bridge with Rhonda. A couple of herons on nests, which was pretty stimulating as I hadn't seen them in the last month or so. We used to have so many!

Zack had been down yesterday or the day before with the tractor and pulled down a section of the beaver dam. They've already built it about 1/3 of the way back.

Note

A mixed report on the COVID front. I had gotten a chest x-ray last week, and the report on the portal was that it showed signs of chronic lung disease. Not something I had ever heard about before, and I was pretty distressed. Anyway, today was the follow-up virtual visit with my PCP, or at least with her partner, equally bright pleasant and competent. She pulled up the x-ray and showed it to me, concluding pretty quickly that it was absolutely normal. Offered me a referral to a pulmonologist if I wanted something more definitive, but I declined. Prescribed me an inhaler for the cough and sensation of chest tightness. Things being the way they are in this backwater, the pharmacy won't have it until tomorrow afternoon. The doc said that my COVID cough may persist for up to a few weeks.
4 PM

Gym 15:00 [3]

Some original strength exercises in the gym, and then 2x10 squats at 75#. That was all I had planned, and by the end of the second set a little discomfort in the R adductor, so good to stop anyway.

Note
(sick)

Still a fair amount of chest congestion and an annoying cough. However, the good news is that I tested negative this morning, so maybe I am on my way out of this. Rhonda seems never to have gotten it, whether by being away in TX at a critical transmission juncture, or just better immune response.

We had been scheduled to attend a wedding this weekend, but canceled out because of concern about my lingering illness. It appears that the father of the bride may be similarly compromised.

Easy. No interest in going at all fast enough to elevate my breathing rate. Last 500 m I was getting the tell-tale signs of strain in my L forearm, always the weak link in my rowing history.
