Still pretty sick today, and re-tested after being COVID-negative on Friday. Positive today, so my apologies to people I was around this weekend, and hope no one else comes down with it. Zack is also positive, and has had symptoms since Saturday. Rhonda is negative. No idea where this might have come from.

Not much of a Letchworth Billygoat today for me. Pretty sick, sore throat, tired, very weak. Thought maybe I’d walk to the start, get a map, maybe walk a control. Got out of the car and realized that any of that would have been too much effort. I just got back in the car, read and dozed for a while, got out and walked around when finishers started coming in. A beautiful place and a beautiful day. Not a single thought that I could have done anything else. Then the long, long ride back with my most excellent chauffeur J-J, who stopped at the Blandford service plaza and handed me off to my friend Tony who lives near there. My car was parked at his place.

Orienteering 53:28 intensity: (15:12 @1) + (23:27 @2) + (9:12 @3) + (4:26 @4) + (1:11 @5) 2.44 mi (21:55 / mi) +77m 19:58 / mi
ahr:118 max:159 (sick) shoes: 2019 Icebug Aurora BUGrip

Certainly made some mistakes, off a little on most controls, and lost a lot of time on 5 and 7. Very little energy.

Woke up to see that the dog trap had been sprung, the chicken was gone, but no sign of the dog!? A message soon arrived. The dog had been caught at around midnight and the recovery people, alerted by the remote camera they had focused on the trap, came to get him then, all of which I slept through. Here is the wandering pooch, adjusting to civilization once again. I assume that he will be making a trip to the vet soon, to get de-porcupine spined and otherwise spiffed up after his lengthy adventure.

He doesn't really look all that relieved to be back in custody.

Pilates 50:00 [3]
slept:6.75 weight:167.8lbs

Cardio Sculpt 1.56 with Yi, She is the most particular of the instructors, really high energy, doing a lot of correcting and adjusting as we go along. This one made me sweat.
10 AM

Note

The dog rescue people showed up to set up a trap to capture the dog who has been hanging around here the last several days, along with the owners. Interesting process. It will be interesting to see if the young canine is properly enticed into it. Between talking about this and that and setting it up, they were here about an hour and a quarter.

Here is the trap they set up, baited with rotisserie chicken.
12 PM

Note

Giving a Zoom deposition from 12:30 to 6:15. Exhausting. Kind of hoping I won't back myself into doing this again. Felt pretty crappy afterwards. A little dry cough, slightly sore throat, general malaise.
6 PM

Note

so out for a dog loop, slowly, listening for frogs, and gradually feeling better.

Pilates 50:00 [3]
slept:7.0 weight:168lbs

Reformer flow 1 with Yi. Good session, a little sweat, but not as tiring as the one yesterday with the jumping.
1 PM

Note

A couple of hours with Zack down at the bridge. Cutting up the old timbers to get the pieces with spikes and bolts in them separated from whatever lengths of just plain wood. Ended up with probably 1000# of mixed wood and spikes, which filled up the bed of the pickup truck. Theoretically, Zack will take it to the dump tomorrow. There was some thought of trying to burn it, but that really didn't seem that interesting. The rest of the wood I'll drag off into the woods where it can rot down peacefully. It's all white oak, somewhat rotted already, no preservative of any kind ever applied to it.
4 PM

Running 42:25 intensity: (12 @0) + (13:24 @1) + (28:32 @2) + (17 @3) 2.63 mi (16:08 / mi) +91m 14:34 / mi
ahr:112 max:131 shoes: 2021 Navy Gel Kayanos

This was really difficult, mostly hamstrings. All the work on the old bridge timbers probably didn't help.
