Orienteering race 50:51 [4] *** 3.3 km (15:25 / km) +165m 12:20 / km
spiked:8/17c shoes: Montrail Kinabalu

10:00 - Gauteng Champs Short Course. Had a bad race with way too many mistakes. Too fast at times, poor route choices, following, etc... aargh!

15:00 - Did 2 laps of the Groenkloof MTB route. Awesome single track! 2nd ride since Swazi - my MTB fitness needs some serious work...

12:20 - Suffered it out on a stationary bike @ 190W throughout. It's been a while and I forgot how slowly time goes by when you're not actually going anywhere...

16:30 - 10 long laps of Emmarentia with Oliver. Struggled to get the seat alignment right but didn't fall in this time :-)

Drakensberg: Hiked all the way down Camel Pass and Tryme Hill to our cars at Didima Camp, a 1700m descent...

Hiking 8:55:34 [2] 10.5 km (1.2 kph) +1652m

Drakensberg: Ascended Cockade Pass to the escarpment and then traversed over Cleft Peak (3277m) to Roland's Cave. This must be the best cave in the berg and requires an exposed ledge traverse to reach it. Not marked on the maps but well worth searching for. Some patches of snow around and once again, clear blue skies. Also saw some Basothos smuggling weed into SA...
