Very tired and feel a bit fevery, but otherwise ok. At the hospital, they had warned us, that we had rewarmed, but not recovered yet ..,

Event: Nationalpark Bike Marathon
 

My first bike race. It went very well at the beginning and I passed many people at uphills as well as at downhills. First we had heavy rain, then a hailstorm with temperature drop and then snowstorm. After the long uphill, I got cold and was happy about every little uphill. Passed the sign "only 5k to go" and knew only downhill left. From there I had to drive very slowly, becouse the breaks didn't work well anymore, and because my hands coldn't hold the breakes. Had to stop every 50 meters to move hands to feel anything again. At a sanity checkpoint (10' to go at maximum) I asked for some hot tea to warm my hands at, but they didn't let me go on and flew me to the hospital (with quite a lot of others), where I started with 34.0 degrees body temperature. after 45' of trembling (no it was not an earthquake which let Scuols hospital tremble) it got bether and two hours later, I could leave.
The long races had started earlier - with quite good weather - but got cancelled when the snowstorm came (their highest point beeing 2700m). Mikee and Chrigi both had done about half of their races, got cold as well and had to wait to be shuttled home.
In the evening we were all warm again at our flat in Scuol.
