orienteering race 17:44 [5] 2.5 km (7:06 / km) +40m 6:34 / km
ahr:180 max:189 shoes: Asics Kayano

National event. Sprint race in Solothurn after the EYOC.
It was an interesting race, but not too difficult. You could take wrong route choices, but almost no tricky ziggzagging routes where you coud take a wrong path or a dead end.
I hat a good race. I made the wrong route choices to #2, #3 and #4, with each loosing about 10 seconds and perhaps 2 or 3 times 5 seconds because of tiny uncertainities.
For me it's a mistery, how others could run the course more than two minutes faster than me - perhaps its because of more training, more talent and less wight - so not actually a mistery... ;-)

orienteering race 48:39 [5] 6.5 km (7:29 / km) +165m 6:38 / km
ahr:181 max:189 shoes: VJ integrator old

Swiss relay champs with Katja and Isa. I did the start for my team. It was a really good race - made maximum 2 minutes mistake during the whole race. But if I had been on my own, I would have been at least 5 minutes slower. Ranking 21/23 after the first leg, but could not have done better.
Katja was not pleased with her run, but did not loose too much. Isa had a good run. She was in the forest on her own, but passed a runner without seeing her, so we were not last in the end! (22/23).
The goal of our team was to get all the controls right and our third runner not having to go on the mass start. We managed this quite easily and were happy with the nice forest and interesting courses.
If all of us had made good races, we wouldn't be more than one or two places ahead in the ranking ;-)
