Woke up with a bit of a cold coming on so took a rest day today. My legs are glad i think, and this way I don't have to rest when the others are going to one of the maps i haven't run on.

Orienteering 1:40:37 [3]

Putting out tapes with Malin for her New Years training. Kept my watch running for the whole time and it was a bit stop start but I got some good running in! Feeling tired now, this was after an attempt at cross-country skiing and we went straight for some ice-skating after. Winter sports are hard!

Ran to strength training in a delicious -14 degrees. Had my phone for maps but it even got too cold that it turned off!

OK Nolaskogsarna strength training. A warm up then a circuit type thing for most of it and then a little pair strength after. Good fun!

Orienteering long 1:36:10 [3]

Group long run on a map near Övik. A lot on tracks and it was quite icy again so my feet and calves were feeling a bit bad. So so so cold, pretty sure it was -8 when we started and my hair and the buff around my neck turned to ice. Good fun but I'll have to be a bit careful how much running I do in the O shoes without my orthotics.

Ok Nolaskogsarna has a two day training camp! First session was 5x orienteering intervals with 5 or 6 controls. Everyone had a different combination of controls on their descriptions and there were shorter options with less controls so we were all finishing together, making each of them was a mass start. Super cool session! Orienteered ok, my exit direction needed a bit of work though. Not sure if I thought enough about pushing faster with the running speed but the tracks were super icy so maybe I just was in a bit of a cautious mode today.

After some ocad learning and a bit of armchair sprint o we did a spinning class. Two hills at the start and then 5x 4min intervals. Super motivating with a full room of orienteers. The last interval was the final few minutes of next years final stage of oringen, I caught up three places ;) good day!

Innebandy 5:00 [3]

The super competitive Christmas Day inter club innebandy match. 5mins game time is being generous, the team was wise with their choice of players ;)

Orienteering 59:02 [3]

Malin and I orienteered our way home from the match IN THE SNOW! So so so cool, absolutely loved it! Pretty tiring in the legs, it's like running in sand but the top of the snow was a bit hard so it actually hurt a little bit when our feet sunk through.

Could not lift my head off the pillow my neck was so sore! Not sure whether it was the skiing (falling) or carrying everything I've owned for the past 8months for like 15mins the day before. Decided on a rest day anyway with a busy day making pavlova!

Training for the Christmas match! Not too sure whether I'll get a go, my skills may not be on par... So much fun to play on a full size court though! I got tired.

Jogged home from innebandy with Malin. Wore her old orienteering shoes so i could stay upright this time which was fun

Spent a good few hours attempting to downhill ski this morning! First time on ski's and there are a few bruises, but my learning curve was great if I say so myself!

8hour bus ride to övik today! Wanted to go for a little jog before dinner but I'm the fool who didn't take metal studded shoes to North Sweden... Super icy and I stacked it so we couldn't go on the tracks and ended up doing a super slow little loop on the roads. Still nice to be outside and move the legs after the whole day on the bus though!

Long run with Josh and Malin from Malins place. Super nice lit up tracks! Knee was a bit sore at the end, seems to happen whenever I'm sitting on a bus or a train for a few hours so I think that's all it is.

Found it very hard to get out the door today, feeling super drained from all the goodbyes in the last few days and it was dark, foggy and raining so that didn't help. Warm up and down to and from Safjället.

Running tempo 30:00 [3]

3x 8/2 tempo. First one felt shocking and like i couldn't get enough air in but the last two were alot better. And after putting it off all day i really enjoyed it, thank goodness. My running style must be so bad at the moment though, i feel relatively strong up the hills but my hamstrings are always what hurt the most :|

Pyramid intervals with COL. 1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1. It hurt but it felt like it was really good to do the session. Pleased with my strength on the hills! And not as cold today which was cool! Hamstrings and glutes were super super tight

6x 1min on, 30 off, 4min on, 2min off. The man i usually run with was absent today so my times were a bit slow and it was a bit stressful seeing everyone up ahead and wanting to catch up. Super slippery in parts too so i kept slowing myself down and it got pretty frustrating. I almost stopped after the 5th but i think it'll be my last GMOK training so I couldn't not finish it.

To Skatås for a loop of the 5km. It's been a big weekend! Maybe would've been nice to do a little longer but it was more than enough for today, I'm so tired!!!! Super icy and slippery and classic me stacked it in probably the busiest section, brilliant!

Note

Not the greatest training while we were away. Monday and Tuesday were no-goes because of not really wanting to get blown away in the hurricane weather (not an exaggeration). Then we filled the whole day Wednesday touristing and the only chance I had today was a very early morning effort but with only 6 hours sleep as it was (we chased the Northern Lights for a fair while! :D) I wasn't too keen. Feeling a bit bleurgh now but I can train good next week. And it was definitely worth it, one of the most amazing places I will ever go I think!!!

Reykjavik winter run!! Josh found this in our planning for a trip away and it kind of decided for us when we would go to Iceland. It's just a 10km loop around a park area in Reykjavik once a month in the winter. About 200 people there I think so it was pretty cool, and we crossed the finish to gingerbread, a Powerade and a box of Icelandic chocolates! Felt pretty crappy running wise, there was just a little bit of fresh snow but it really tires you out! Then one long hill at the end on asphalt that I just couldn't get up, every time I pushed off my foot was slip backwards, the quads were burning! I've never worn so many clothes running but god it was cool!
Time includes a very necessary warm up

GMOK Stugloppet. First 25m of track was knee deep water and that was pretty much the theme for the entire run. Super wet and slippery but really enjoyable. Nice to run with Josh and Malin :)

Successfully found all controls on my second ever nighto!! In Änggårdsbergen so pretty hilly and ridiculously slippery with the rain. I was not fast at all, in fact very verrrrrry slow, but it felt like it went better than last weekend at least. Also lost quite a bit of time because I think one was in the wrong spot, kinda frustrating but i also dont really care because at least i knew where i was enough to realise it was wrong! woo!

COL intervals at Safjälet. 4x 6min intervals with 90sec recovery. I was feeling super crappy in my legs, pretty tired from yesterday and they weren't liking the hills. Out and back intervals and i didnt make it back to the start point either time, and the pace wasn't too good. But im still happy with the session!

Today hurt! Feeling almost completely better again though so it felt really good to do a hard training, and i feel alot happy with how i was moving today compared to the weekend.
4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, 5, 5 intervals, 60sec recovery between intervals of the same time and 90 sec when the time was changing. Think i'm happy enough with my pace
