Orienteering race 1:54:50 [3]

Thoroughly enjoyed this! The map and the course, the whole thing!
A bit disappointed to lose so much time on mistakes though. I made a mistake on the first control on both loops, the second time was worse and i think i ended up losing about 4 minutes... Made errors on 6 and 9 too, maybe about a minute each i think, but other than that i found i really struggled to keep my line! Not sure if thats because i was a bit off on my bearings or if im just super weak and dont push through the green well enough... But i feel positive enough with how i went physically, maybe just maaaayyyybe im finally getting better at pushing myself... The feet weren't too phased by the no orthotics during the race but they were aching alot after and are still sore now, so a rest for me today (monday) i think

I couldn't have another rest day so i went to stretch my legs once we got to bendigo and this was when i realised that i didnt have my orthotics and started to worry about running the long without them..........

Ran out to walka to meet mum and josh, not quite the 19km for 19years but good enough. Followed by brunch at a cafe with dad too, top morning :)

Josh set me a course at Pelaw Main, im taking it as a bit of an early bday present ;) Super hot running which was strange! Went pretty alright except i think my running was a bit too inconsistent and it was really hard to be sure i was in the right spot for the little termite mounds in the green. Maybe like 3 quarters through there was a huuuuuuuuge bang, up there with the most terrifying orienteering moments and ive done a night-o at belanglo... I was super close to it and could see smoke and a car and people, so for the rest of the course i wasn't really focussed on my plans properly, i just wanted to leeeeave hahah.

A bit over a 15 jog
then 10x 1min on 1min off along a relatively flat dirt track. A few muddy spots but today was suuuch a nice day again today :)
Then about a 12 min jog home. I saw the same guy out for a walk about 5 times because i was doing a bit of a loop, super awkward...

Orienteering race (State League #13) 29:13 [3]

Not too bad of a run. I made a few small mistakes early on, number 3 i got in to the watercourse to the right of mine and then on number 6 i was a little to the left. But other than that it was just a matter of making my legs keep going in the open areas at the end, twas super fast but super wet. But so so cool to have a new map! I think it'll be quite good if we can get out for some trainings here, super good practise on lifting the legs to get through the gassy bits!

Super fun but holy moly i did some stupid things!! Messed up twice with the gates and then even though i had planned ahead i read my controls wrong when i got to 13 and went straight to 15... Silly silly silly
Pretty bummed to not make the afternoon event, i had work and just couldnt bring myself to ask for my shift to be changed after asking for so much time off :(

Super short and shitty. I never want to spend my money on food at uni so when i get home im always really hungry but then my food never has time to settle if i want to get out and run before dark. Really going to have to stop that though because today it wasn't even just the one stitch, there were multiple! I felt soooooo bleurgh!

Did over a solid two hours of walking from various train stations today so i wasn't too phased when i got home and it was cold and almost dark. Really good for my legs to do all that i think though, they were a little sore, calves especially! Had to cut the strength sesh short because kazza was so efficient with cooking and i couldn't have it getting cold, id been waiting all day for it!

First time running on Fernleigh track! Had an hour so i went out for 5km and back to the car, and then drove to pick josh and adelaide up from the other end to get a boost. The first 2km were with mum and i stopped briefly to get the car key from her on the way back. Pretty content with the pace though considering the lack of running in the last two weeks.

Got a bit of a cold on the first day of uni so this week has been pretty relaxed from training, which has been nice but it's been long enough. A bit tough to return to the hard roads, my calves were struggling by 14 minutes and then my feet were completely numb by 36 mins... But it was super fun to just run and not care about how fast (/slow) i was going or how long id been out! :) Plus i looked super gnarly for the last 20 minutes because i stacked it and had blood on my legs, loved it.

Didnt feel too crash hot today, but it was a tough run! Made a slight error on the last control and had to run up the watercourse but other than that i just felt a little race'd out, maybe just a few relaxed jogs will be the go for a week or so i think :)
