Note

Not going to back track to log all of the 5 days individually, but I'm pretty glad it was just a starter to the season! I was relatively happy with day one, but the following two were absolute shockers! :|| The last two days i think my fitness was what let me down but thank goodness i could finally eliminate those huge stupid mistakes i had been making! It was an awesome time though of course, i missed being there last year so it was great to go back :))

Orienteering 48:18 [3]

Legs were pretty sore, especially in the tough going Gretley terrain, it wasn't cool either which was rough.
Took a really low route choice on the way to 5, and then had to go around some green a fair way on the way to 13 so i lost some time on each of those. Spider webs were a problem, majority actually had some pretty big spiders in them too which i wasn't a fan of. Luckily though it wasn't until Michele and i collected controls afterwards that we saw the snake skin! :|||||||

Running race 25:00 [3]

Went to the track for a 3km!
Track was pretty full so the warm up was limited to one of the bends but it didn't take long, super warm weather! Also meant we could only run in lane three and there was a rather huge headwind not he back straight too which didnt do wonders for the time. Still disappointed though, at least this is the starting point and it'll only improve from here!

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Really good interval session at Brush Creek set by josh.
First part was 4 intervals of two controls. Noticed that my compassing definitely needs a lot of work!!
Second was a bit of a pairs race putting out controls type thing, really good but I'm not at all confident enough int he circle. So noticeable how much i look for a control instead of trying to have a plan in the actual circle!

Orienteering (Sprint Training) 45:00 [3]

Day one of Christmas Camp!
Sprint relay with courses from the newcastle event a few weeks ago. Really enjoyable! Did the medium first followed by the long, a few small mistakes and i was not a fan of the stairs on the medium course aha. Good racing though!

Hills at King Edward with Josh and Angus. 4 long and 5 short ones. I felt awful which was a pain, happy josh got me to do 4 of the long ones though i almost wussed out.
Not going to lie i almost died in the warm up, never in my life have i done a 20 minute warm up jog...

Got to go to Maitland park run today because i wasn't working! It was good in theory and i was excited to finally get there, until the warm up and the reality of how slow i was actually going to be running it hit me…

Cute brother sister warm up and warm down.
I definitely slowed down towards the end, but i tried to force my legs to move a bit faster on the wall on the way to the finish. Don't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing that i was so familiar with the track though, i just kept thinking about how far i had to go! :| The corners do make it a bit slower but I definitely like that it's on tracks though and not roads! Missing my garmin :((

Ran with dad for the start of his run, i just turned home early. I lost 10 cents every time he thought my arms were too high, think thats about my weeks earnings at coles gone now to be honest...

At le gym, it was tough :) They got these new fancy screen things for each bike which we used today. I really hope mine was one of the ones that wasn't working though, because i don't really look at calories and all that jazz but i feel like i was definitely working hard enough to lose more than 25 like it said i did...

At Irrawang, set by the lovely Sal.
I got a bit sucked in to the points far out which meant i was pretty late and lost 5 which was not good today! It was good for training though, i may not have been going real fast but i definitely wasn't letting myself go super slow so i was relatively happy. Wish i knew how far i went though, ill try to figure that one out. Didn't leave out too many points which i guess doesn't really mean much because of how late i was, but it still felt cool! aha

So unfortunately i returned from schoolies with nothing to log and a cold which has had me out of training for this past week :(((( Lucky i had a good time, but it's been way too long!
But it was brilliant and more than overdue to be back to it today for a bit of a group session with Angus, Callum, Tamara, Alex and Josh. Went for a run along the lake at spears point, out for 15 and then back to the park, minus josh for the running part hahah. Made it through with minimal coughing which was nice!

The run was followed by a strength session in the park. It's nice to know i still have enough abs hidden under there to have been able to do the whole session, but i will for sure be feeling it tomorrow!
