Felt soooo exhausted/tired/flat after work so thought this would be a struggle. It was, but I still think I might’ve potentially been doing slightly better at the end of this session compared to last week..?
2*3x(1x300m loop, 1x350mloop). 30sec between all loops, 3min between the two sets. Mostly on grass/bark chips and with some nice clim for such small loops. Probably exactly what my slow, weak legs needed!

At Glenrock with some fantastic company. Loved it and felt good. Not as long as it should have been but today was more about just enjoying it. Think I’m going to set myself up a few hard weeks of training now!

A rainy Maitland parkrun this week. Slowed down at the end of km 2 and 3 and ended with 23.15. Not too disappointed considering my legs are still sore from Thursday, and considering what the Maitland course is like on a rainy day.

15ish warm up
Made my way to the group training Paula has set up in Chatswood. A bit of a trek from work so not sure I’ll be able to quite make it each week, but I think it’ll be really good for me if I can!
Struggled through 2* 1xshort loop (62-72 seconds) 1x long loop (2.07-2.19). 30 seconds between loops, 3min between sets. Clearly very inconsistent and slowed down a lot, but this session had like 6+ more mins of effort of any session I’ve done in the last ~2 years which is huge for me!

Feeling exhausted today and ready for a rest day but thoroughly enjoyed this! Took the wrong route to 10 and 11 but I’m not that fussed, kind of feel like I was almost orienteering properly again.

Had a bit of a shocker and somehow didn’t realise my orthotics weren’t in my shoes until I was jogging to parkrun (?!). Turned back to get them but then had to push a little too hard to get there on time. Very nearly decided to just turn it into a long run instead but glad I didn’t. Even though the legs were kind of tired before I’d started I held on relatively fine for 23.09. Slower than last time, but oh well.

To Centennial park for a loop > back past home in the hope of picking up a roomie for the last bit (didn't happen) > Sydney Park for a loop and home. Felt quite good and not too smashed at all at the end, very pleasing :)

I’ve been sleeping terribly lately so I skipped the parkrun alarm. Kinda regretted it initially because I had no idea what to do instead - such a hot day and was meant to storm this afternoon... Decided to swim again while it was warm. Not the best parkrun substitute but consistent for the 40mins and a nice break for the foot.

1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1. Every speed 'session' I've done of late has only totalled either 8 or 10 minutes of hard effort, AND I clocked the fastest pace I've gone in a while on these 60 second efforts, so woo! (I'm all about taking the little wins at the moment). In a good frame of mind with training where as long as a session is tough and I feel like I've had to push I'm happy, no matter how slow my times are or how short the session is. Not sure how long that'll last though...

Probably would’ve switched things around and done a long run yesterday if I had planned for it but thought I’d still go out for a shorter long run this morning Nd take it kinda easy later on. Hotter than I expected though so I actually felt kinda buggered!

Sydney sprint series. Soooo so so rusty and slow. Lost like 20 seconds on three (oops) and made some slightly silly route choices looking back but loved it. Good times.

Running (Parkrun) 22:50 [3]

I'M BACK (not fitness wise, just logging on attackpoint wise). I've now been able to run/train most days for the last few months AND I just entered my first orienteering event for what feels like a lifetime, so this felt like a good way to celebrate!

St Peters parkrun is my new local. One relatively big hill in the middle but otherwise quite a flat and speedy course on paths. Still moving along embarrassingly slowly but I've been improving week to week so can't complain too much.
