NOY4 at Wallaroo - "Hamburger Trail" - Mod Short course, but didn't go to all controls - lots of tree fall, with creepers and clumpy grass on the ground - very difficult going with crutches.
sometimes the tracks and paths were slower than through the open forest, and green stripe generally seemed slower than light green forest.
one big mistake on approach to #5, took wrong minor track (confused by fallen trees) and should have back-tracked when I realised mistake - instead continued down creek line for 150m - very slow going in long grass bracken and scrub - lesson for next time, (or put a scythe blade on the crutches!)
orienteering warm up/down 15:00 [1] 0.85 km (17:39 / km) +10m 16:40 / km
walk to start - hadn't allowed for this distance in my plans, but reasonable speed on the greasy track (2 crutches)
