Run 12:59 [3] 3.0 km (4:20 / km)

3km Time trial at the AIS Track.

Plan was to go out steady and finish hard. I haven't been very speedy recently so I wasn't sure how I would go. I was reasonably happy with the run as I was able to finish strong and passed a few of the girls in the last 2 laps but I know the time isn't fast enough. Glad to have a benchmark to improve from though.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Two man relay at Commonwealth Park.
Awesome session with 9 legs each and I think about 4km. It's amazing how much harder I run in a sprint relay when I know someone else is depending on me! So much fun.

Run 14:00 [3] 3.0 km (4:40 / km)

Great track session. Controls were placed every 50m around the track. We were given control descriptions which gave us the distance we had to run to our next control. Ie, 100m, 50m, 200m, 100m etc and each time you punched you had to run back in the opposite direction. I hadn't done anything like it before and it was great fun!!

Recovery 30:00 [3]

Recovery session in the AIS recovery centre. Alternating cool/warm pools. Awesome opportunity to use the great facilities.

The longest period we had in the cold pool was 3 mins- the Brumbies session was still written on the whiteboard and some of their team had to stay in for 10mins!! Brrrrr!!

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

Mass Start at Radford. Great map and great courses. Awesome fun.

Run 15:00 [3]

Sprint Camp in Canberra

Morning session was a maze-o. Maze was set out by bunting and there were 3 different course all about 400m in length. Great fun! Highlighted the importance of looking ahead!

Run 27:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:24 / km)

First race of Sprint Canberra at AIS.

Good course with variety in leg length and difficulty. Didn't feel very strong and took a very bad route choice because I didn't see the gate I was heading for was locked so had to backtrack a long way. Disappointed by my speed and thus result. Hopefully the weekend improves!
