Signed up hoping for a steady effort with so much other racing on but knew that wouldn't be the case with Alex running. Was a bit surprised to be completely on the limit for 15min on the road after Wyoming Brook though. Managed to get stronger when it got a bit rougher on Stanage and Burbage and it was an enjoyable last 40min. Not that I could of gone any quicker at all.


Made the run back to the car a bit grim but joined by Alex and we were both struggling. Did have a bit of a rest as I attempted to follow a trod on a shortcut across Burbage which disappeared and did some bracken bashing. Not sure Alex approved of my route choice.
