Sprint B final

This was fun running but not really orienteering as we had been watching the A final and GPS and routes then not much changed so this took away a lot from the challenge of orienteering. Was running okay caught SAsha at 6 which was fun, just one error with a wrong RC+going up wrong set of steps briefly to 8 but otherwise good. Just like at the JK Jamie overtook (not literallly) on the run in the get me by 1s. Speedy boy.

WC Middle 38th

So excited for this terrain. Promptly went and screwed up 1 losing 70s then a bad route to 2 losing another 60s and my 90s man (Quentin) was gone and was with Tristan who I had caught up. Good through to 7 catching Quentin then messed up 8 and got caught by 3min man here and Quantin was gone again. Then a good route to 9 so lost 3min man then I thought 13 looked like a steep climb so decided to back out the control and go the long way round which worked an absolute treat. Eventually got back to Quentin and we were nailing the ones in the massive rocks. Then again took the long round route to 19 and put the burners on dropping Quentin. Went round to 22 losing about 20s so ended up behind but really surprised to be so high up after my awful start.
After 15min I was in 79th place then just some sensible routes and good orienteering managed to shoot up and most excitedly get some WC points. Now I have got WC points in Sprint, Middle and Long.

WC Sprint Relay

Bad route to one where I thought I could get through in the middle but couldn't so had to take the lower route losing 15s. Then slowly clawed my way on to the back of Felly who was navigating well. Hit the hill (11-13) and we both popped and just struggled in losing time physically but navigationally okay.

Knockout Sprint Qualification

Very poor performance on the hill section. Just a bit panicked and took some rushed very poor routes. Physically feeling very good on the flat and some good pace from 9-finish.

Disappointing as today was probably the day that suited my skills the most.
