Long run in Pentlands.

Amazingly feeling really quite good. Must have been the marshmallow mash last night. Fog down so made for an eerie run. Tried to keep it flat and a fairly steady pace. Was very icy in places which slowed progress at times but otherwise was a lovely day to be out.

Knee was sore on a couple of short sections. Yet wasn't persistent. May take a precautionary day off running tomorrow.

WU round the course with the legs slowly starting to feel better.

Scottish Unis XC. 5th

I set off very sensibly and then after about 3k in a small pack with Carcas we moved through passing Sasha and Lawler and after Elisha fell we were 3-6. Then legs got really heavy and started struggling on the ups where Carcas and Aberdeen guy just pulled away easily. Ground it out from then on not losing any more.

It was a great course (minus the fact it was 4 laps as I find that a bit monotonous) and really enjoyed the racing today. I always instantly regret not tapering when doing races like this but the lesson of racing/pacing is always beneficial wherever you are in the field. Also don't want to be one of those people who tapers every weekend. Bigger fish to fry.

Absolutely shafted. Yesterday may have been one effort too many despite feeling okay. This was a real struggle especially any incline.
Tomorrow could be fun ...

WU then 4 near max efforts on Killing fields of ~45sec. Went up to the top of the second bank from car park. Then one to top of first bank turn and return. Did one hill sprint but was quite slippy so just went to orienteering from there.

FWTN on Whinny.

I was very shoddy to begin with and overshot a couple on the 5000 scale. Then a few gaps between gorse which didn't really exist anymore. Good fun though and a nice night if not rather chilly for it.

Thanks Tim

With Peter till Allermuir. Really struggling in the Pentlands due to the hills and headwind. Not feeling too fabulous.

Was at uni later so went to their session on campus.
3x1.75k (90). Not feeling amazing but not awful neither.
10x13sec hills going head to head with Liam. Having breathing problems on the recoveries hopefully due to the cold more than anything else.
Then got a lift with Liam to his and ran home which was a bit further than I thought.

Very easy work-gym. Probably the slowest I have ever run along the canal and loving it. Was feeling quite sore and tired from the weekend.

S+C 50:00 [0]

I was very lazy in the gym today. Apart from trying to do a high box jump and failing.
