Gaffled trains on Auchingarrich with Peter, Kris, GG, Nixon, Laura, Fanni and JonX. Thanks to Marcus and Jase for planning and hanging respectively.

Really enjoyed this and was fairly consistent the whole way through. Pretty exhausted after about 30min though and went quite slow at times by myself but just trying to hit the controls. There was very few times it felt like a hard paced session but I think it was more the nature of the terrain.

Glasgow BMC 3k

I set off and stuck to the back and the race quickly formed into two packs which separated a lot. I would of liked to have started quicker and probably should of pushed on and run solo before the last k but it felt nice in the second pack. Felt pretty good pushing on in the last k. Really want to do some more now. Mostly cause my PB is just dropping massively.

Love a bit of summer base phase. Long runs in the sun. Took a detour on my route to work via the pentlands. Lovely morning for it. Hurting a bit after the steeper descents but otherwise not too shabby.

So Peter got me into the Glasgow BMC on Friday. Yet as a straight replacement for his 8:33 friend. So I'm in the A race. Two guys last year were over 9 (had PB's of 8:45) but the rest were under 8:45. My PB is 9:06.

So I decided to see what I could do. Aim was k reps under 3min for as many as I could off 2min rest. I managed the first one fairly comfortably. Then the second one was into a bit of a headwind and I saw my avg pace tick over 3 so put in a killer 200m effort at the end to sneak under. Absolutely gone.
Managed 1min of the next rep and the legs were having none of it. Sat down for 10min then did 4x500(75sec) then 4x200(60sec) followed by more sitting down.
