I was scared to begin with. My body was held together with tape and drugs and it was a long way.
Started off fast caught OJ quickly and Rich not long after. Then a mistake to 6 came back to control and there was about 7 people there. Simon Smedberg was the leader and was running fast. He dropped all but me Hoddy and one other guy. I spend the next 40min struggling through the rough stuff to stay with them. Then he seemed to die and I took the lead on the long leg back to the woods and promptly made a mistake then Peter went to the front and a small miss (we should have let the swede lead). Then Ola came flying through and dropped us all but Smedberg but came back on the descent and had a nice Sprint finish with Peter.

Loved this race lovely area and great fun if not painful. A good week for me took my time to get into the orienteering but felt confident and full of running by the end,
Might have to find a multi day running race to do at somepoint as I always seem strong at the end of weeks of orienteering

Wow that was tough. Lots of windblown and shit about. Very scrappy but only small losses ~20sec on first load. Took right on long leg and felt very tough getting to the control. Got caught in the windblown they had told us about at 19 (silly me). Then descending to 21 I ran into a rock and bashed my knee and shin and couldn't put any weight on it. Lay down on the track in pain unable to move for 30sec-1minute. Then hobbled/limped round next 2 controls before it got better. Then one big mistake on a short leg. Ruining what was a good run. But many others had tough days so still on the up overall

Much better day.
A few 20 sec mistakes but moving well and mostly finding the controls. Getting back a little bit more time each day.

Scottish day 2
Good day today but I feel the early start may have scuppered the chance of a great result but a positive feeling nonetheless. Reasons not to orienteer in summer. Wading through head high bracken.

Feel like Quintana. Lose a lot of time at the beginning and spend the rest of the competition scraping whatever time I can get out of other competitors.
