Orienteering race 1:55:15 [5] 17.1 km (6:44 / km) +490m 5:54 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talon 212 2013B

Scottish 6 Days M21E Coulmony and Belivat 52nd
Woke up feeling apprehensive about this race after the previous 2 weeks efforts. Set off well again, caught Embrey (1min) at 1 but was a little sloppy through to 4 but nothing major. 5 took a left line and saw Erik Lind and Duncan (1 and 2min behind) here, raced on to the back of the train. Stuck in behind to 7 then got ahead on the way to 8 dropping Erik. Kept pushing the pace on and caught up a whole gang of people on the long leg here including the mighty John Rocke. We then ran as a 3 and picked up 1 or 2 more back to the road crossing where I took a straighter route with Duncan dropping the rest, although Duncan dropped me here. Started to get quite tired after the spectator loop going past Rob K atleast 2 times. John and some foreigner caught back up here. Got in to 28 alright then at 29 the Chegwinski train caught up....madness! ~10 orienteers running together trying to hold on to the back of Aiden leading on. Had to let him go eventually and was on hands and knees up the last hill with Baptiste trotting up next to me (Grrrr!). Duncan also came back past me here wierdly? But my best ever classic time (I think) on a really tough area and course. Lead quite a lot of the way round in my own trains and loved it!

Orienteering warm up/down 22:00 [3] 3.4 km (6:28 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talon 212 2013B

Start before and round the field afterwards with Rich and Duncan

shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

Scottish 6 Days M21E Roseisle 22nd
Not overly pleased with myself here but the result isn't too bad, no big errors but just felt quite sloppy. Was maybe pushing the running a little too much at times

Orienteering warm up/down 14:00 [3] 2.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

Orienteering race 39:35 [5] 6.2 km (6:23 / km) +205m 5:29 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talon 212 2013B

Scottish 6 Days M21E Loch of Boath 85th
From the off I was expecting a run around with Duncan setting off a minute behind. Was clean a solid till 11 when I just panicked a little and didn't have a plan. Saw Willly (4mins behind) go in to 16 just after me so worked hard to not let him catch me which I'll claim happened by a second! Bit disappointed though results are skewed by the fresh legs of the Euromeeting guys. Jamie was 2mins ahead, Jonny and Pete 2.5mins so not the end of the world

Orienteering warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talon 212 2013B

Before and afterwards not much afterwards as really quite cold

Running 23:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:45 / km) +20m 5:37 / km
shoes: Saucony Ride 5

Lovely run through the woods opposite the house in Nethy Bridge...lots of loops. Really really enjoyed being out despite feeling worse for wear. Made me feel a lot better. Through in a few short strides to get the legs turning over and stretch them out before the second half of the week

Orienteering race 1:06:36 [5] 10.8 km (6:10 / km) +105m 5:53 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

Scottish 6 Days M21E Culbin 19th
After watching Rich for part of the last 2 days I went out to run myself in to the ground. Very pleased with my run apart from no.3 which I overshot a little should have slowed down more in to the circle as I ran in to it not really knowing what was going on. A few little misses here and there but generally pleased and stuck to my plan

Orienteering warm up/down 20:00 [3] 3.3 km (6:04 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

To the start then around the field again afterwards

Orienteering race 35:10 [5] 6.0 km (5:52 / km) +15m 5:47 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

Scottish 6 Days M21E Carse of Ardersier 22nd
Started off at a reasonable pace, legs complaining a little. Clean through 4 then a little hesitation to 5 through not being 100% sure where I was on the ridge. Then messed up 6 by turning in a little to late and not realising. Then solid through to 12 where I did a similar thing to 5. Rich caught me again here and was hanging on for dear life at times, couldn't navigate at that speed really but managed to do a little. Was with him pretty much all the way to the finish where a small hesitation just before the control let him get away. Pleased.

Today I realised that I need to be aggressive and attack courses more as the difference in my own navigating speed and Rich's was staggering. I know I'm not at the same level yet but I'm going to push a higher speed from now on!

Orienteering warm up/down 28:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

To the start before then around the field afterwards

Orienteering race 1:03:13 [5] 9.9 km (6:23 / km) +80m 6:08 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

Scottish 6 Days M21E Lossie 35th=
Felt good at the start spiking 1, 2 and 3. Ran straight past the building near 4 losing 2mins. Fairly steady bar an unexplained banana backwards to the path at 7. Rich caught me at 9 and stuck with him till the light green at the end before binning another 2mins + on the 2controls in there. Was running well with Rich managed to get back in front of him and navigate the majority would have been with him at the end were it not for a brief hesitation on the way to 16 giving him a little gap which I couldn't catch in the light green

Orienteering warm up/down 24:00 [3] 3.5 km (6:51 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212 2013

To the start beforehand
Around the field a bit afterwards
