Running 1:03:20 [3] 13.0 km (4:52 / km) +115m 4:40 / km
ahr:141 max:167 shoes: Adidas PB Ultra Boost

Gateshead Harriers Hills

Warm up to the Schooner with some strides

2*60s, 1*45s, 4*15s, 2*30s
1*60s, 1*50S, 1:45s, 4*15s, 2*30s

Felt ok but didn't really feel like I got my heart-rate up as opposed to the 6no longer hills I did last week.

Few more strides then back.

Feel like I ruined this week a little by overdoing it on Wednesday, whilst I really enjoyed the longer harder run I definitely went deeper than I should have and it took me most of the week to fully recover from the effort. Got in the key sessions in though. In to an easier week again, though a fair bit busier with work.

Running 36:20 [1] 5.0 km (7:16 / km) +60m 6:51 / km

Very slow loop around the lake with Anna.

Plan A of a long run in the moors was thwarted by some poor bike management.

Running warm up/down 34:05 [3] 7.23 km (4:43 / km) +25m 4:38 / km
ahr:143 shoes: Nike Zoom Fly 3

On the Quayside before and after with 8*15s strides before and 6*20s strides afterwards.

Feeling ok on the warm up but had a few minutes before heading back. Think Wednesday is still in the system.

Running tempo 18:00 [4] 4.77 km (3:46 / km) +10m 3:44 / km
ahr:171 max:179 shoes: Nike Zoom Fly 3

Gateshead session - 18min 'Progressive' Tempo.

8mins @6:00s
6mins @6:00s
4mins @6:20s

Bad session, should have been ratcheting down the pace but fell apart.

Easy with Anna to the shops for essentials.

Note
(rest day)

Much needed. Not feeling top notch today, stepped it up a little too much yesterday.

Running long 1:47:19 [3] 25.0 km (4:18 / km) +184m 4:08 / km
ahr:153 max:167 shoes: Nike Zoom Fly 3

Out to the Sunderland-Consett Railway and back (most of the way) with Cal at a suitable distance.

Hit the Great North Road and ran south past the Angel, across the A1 and down in to Birtley and in to County Durham and Chester-le-Street. Then picked up the C2C for a few km towards Sunderland before turning north through Washington and up towards Gateshead. Hit a bit of a low at about 20-21km again and set Cal free on Felling bypass as the wheels began to fall off. Made it to 25km before resolving to shuffle my way home.

Running 18:25 [2] 3.13 km (5:53 / km) +30m 5:37 / km
shoes: Nike Zoom Fly 3

Got about 800m and had a pain in my toes and hamstring nip so stopped to walk and felt a bit weak. Walked until the stadium at which point I decided to run again but appeared to have lost the ability to do so and stumbled my way back.

Maybe need to start thinking about fuelling strategies for longer runs.

Running 1:01:00 [3] 13.76 km (4:26 / km) +120m 4:15 / km

Bit of a chilled run with a few efforts thrown in on the hills. Out through the Dene to Hadricks Hill Junction before climbing up to Gosforth and then along Salters Lane to arrive at the Town Moor before nipping down through town and home

Back to Willington Gut but in reverse this time with the outbound stretch on the cycle path. Bumped in to Dan from Harriers briefly. Enjoyable evening out stretching the legs felt better than I thought I would at the beginning.
