Other (Hiking) 4:40:00 [1] 18.8 km (14:54 / km) +215m 14:05 / km

Walking back out from Ben Alder Cottage. A toasty night in the bothy despite not being able to get any local wood to take so no fire.

I felt slightly less ill this morning after 14hours(ish) of sleep but my body still felt utterly shafted this morning with sore shoulders, sore calves and a sore back. All pack related of course, jarred my back slightly which made my night, walkout and journey home all the more uncomfortable.

Munroing day.

Parked up near the Loch Eigheach dam and wandered up the road to the Corrour path. The showers cleared and the sun started to come out over Rannoch Moor and the Blackmount. Turned off the path eventually and started upwards. At this point I realised I was in for a long day as my legs were completely empty, think the cold/flu thing which had been threatening for a few days appeared to have arrived. We hit the end of the ridge plateau at Sron Leachd a' Chaorainn and continued along the trod to Charn Dearg. Bit of a food break before heading down to the col and beginning the slog up Sgor Ghaibhre. Scott told me I looked very ill at the top of this hill. We saw a brocken spectre up here too which was cool. Quick crossing to Sgor Choinnich then down to the stalkers path and on to Ben Alder Cottage.

Amazing veiws, I wish I'd felt better for this and been able to take more in. The wind was icy cold though and we made it down just in time for sunset which was nice.

My left quad had seized up after running parkrun due to the class the other day so this was quite painful.

Running race 17:47 [5] 5.0 km (3:33 / km) +50m 3:23 / km
shoes: Salomon S lab sonic 6 2

Finsbury Parkrun. 1st
Big turnout so expected someone to go at the start and given the state of my body didn't expect to do particularly well.
Made it to the bottom corner in first with someone on my shoulder . He stuck with me up the hill said something then went backwards. Another guy closed me down towards the end of the first lap but put some distance in on the downhill then worked in earnest towards the end. This is a nice course with lots of space, will be back.
