Fell running warm up/down 23:45 [3] 3.0 km (7:55 / km) +50m 7:18 / km
shoes: Innov8 212 2017 #3

Up to the start with PeteB, Sav and Mike Barron in stretches.

Back down to Hope

Run of shame along the road after getting a lift part way. Legs empty.

Fell running race 2:03:15 [4] 22.3 km (5:32 / km) +780m 4:42 / km

Edale Champs Race. DNF.

Maybe I should just avoid the first champs race of the season.....

After much persuasion by JackW and some slightly better runs on Thursday and Friday thought I may as well try. Set off and fell in to place up the first climb behind JackW and baba. On Kinder Edge I started to feel a bit naff so eased back for a while and ended up running with Ali Thornton, Sav and JoshW. Hit the flags and felt somewhat better, worked my way up towards Vic, likely running a bit fast here all considered.
Fell backwards again going up Lords Seat and then the ridge was just crap! Struggled on every incline and then couldn't get going again on the downhills either. Luckily on Lose Hill Tierney, Abdelnoor and Mike Barron came past which meant I was sixth counter for AAC. The road through Hope was hell too, then hit Hope Brink and just ground to a halt. There was no strength in my legs at all. Turned around to see Neil Talbott, Chris Arthur and John Rylance catching me so cheered them on and called it a day as there was no point flogging myself anymore.

Happy with what I managed and pleased with my decision to call it a day when I did as I would have been out a long time! Obviously disappointed to have to pull out and hopefully I'll be running well again soon, just need to work out what it is.

Running 40:00 [2] 7.25 km (5:31 / km) +130m 5:04 / km
shoes: Innov8 212 2017 #3

Stopped off at Nesscliffe on the way home after site works in Shrewsbury.
What a cool little place! Lots of steep hills and little trails to follow plus big quarries. Was thinking it would make a good JOK chasing sprint area but its the WMOA CSC heat this weekend.
Then crossed over to the trig point on the Cliffe and back.

Distance a bit of a mapmyrun guess after failing to understand my watch today for some reason. Forgetting to restart it for a couple of minutes twice and managing to save my run at halfway.

Running 45:03 [3] 10.03 km (4:29 / km) +70m 4:20 / km

On the Tyne Valley Railway. Up towards Lambley Viaduct and back. Felt ok. Why do I feel ok today?! Damn body make your mind up. Still think Edale is a bad idea though.

Lobley Hill loop.
Something just isn't there. Felt very achy which is just stupid and chest is tight. Feels like I'm back to the start of November, although body/legs are turning over easier I think.

Erring against Edale now I reckon. 32km hard just seems a bit stupid if I'm not quite right. Will see what happened in November now to try work out how things changed.

Running 27:35 [3] 6.1 km (4:31 / km) +50m 4:21 / km
shoes: Salomon S-lab Sonic

ITW + race vest trial

Edale is going to be a challenge. Legs, head and chest don't seem to be able to work together at the moment and this felt rather uncomfortable.

Running 28:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:40 / km) +40m 4:31 / km
shoes: Mizuno Sayonara 2

Around Whickham...eventually.
Felt better than the AM (which wasn't hard) but weak at times. Thought I'd try some strides....again ok but weak.
