Fell running warm up/down 18:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:00 / km) +35m 5:40 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212

Bit of a lope beforehand up the hill to see the first junction....Spied Carl Bell but heard he wasn't running
Hobble afterwards trying to keep away from any incline which meant had a run in to the wind on the way back

Fell running race 1:24:16 [5] 17.3 km (4:52 / km) +535m 4:13 / km
ahr:173 max:181 shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212

Cronkley Fell Race 3rd
Great conditions when I turned up though a horrendous wind developed as we were waiting to start which the going a lot harder than it should have been.
Set off with Andy (DFR) and Duncan Archer, then as we turned off the road Andy pulled ahead and from here neither myself nor Duncan got anywhere near him as he stormed ahead to win by ~3.5-4mins.
As this happened it just meant that Duncan and I were racing eachother the entire way. He pulled ahead a little on the flatter drag up the hill to Cronkley fell but closed by the top, was ahead a little across the top but gave up leading as the wind was very strong in to our face. Closed down again by the island checkpoint (Quite cool) then pulled away a little going back up till I got closed down again across the top. Descended well and got a bit more of a substantial gap off back off Cronkley. Went through a bad patch a long the road and Duncan started to inch his way back towards me, was willing the turn back towards the road to be before a little drag up the hill but it wasn't and let Duncan past expecting to be able to cruise in but looked behind and a Howgill Harrier was approaching so just had to grin and bear it. Running down the road was so hard but held it together and finished 16s behind Duncan so pleased with that although slightly disappointed.
Apparently I have a chance of doing quite well in the North-East Hill Champs now after 2 races :) May have to venture back to get a set

Fell running (Reccy) 1:08:00 [3] 12.75 km (5:20 / km) +300m 4:46 / km
ahr:154 max:176 shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212

Out to check out the Saltwell Harriers Fell race route before Tuesday. Took a map with me but not 100% confident I was on the right path the entire way round. Finished with 5*25s in terrain as my mum was driving towards me so ran up to the road. Felt alright nothing special, will hopefully run better tomorrow

Running long 1:15:00 [3] 16.53 km (4:32 / km) +200m 4:17 / km
ahr:157 max:176 weight:78kg shoes: Saucony Ride 5

Over to Kibblesworth and back, out in 37:15 back in 37:35
Again finally got round to doing this run in the evening after being lazy ALL day. Felt a lot fresher than yesterday which was good but feeling a bit tired and energy-less towards the end. Picked up the pace a little towards the end. Heart rate at about the same as yesterday yet this felt a LOT easier

Running warm up/down 17:25 [3] 3.35 km (5:12 / km) +45m 4:52 / km
ahr:144 max:155 shoes: Saucony Ride 5

Up and down the railway track

Running intervals 30:50 [5] 7.0 km (4:24 / km) +60m 4:13 / km
ahr:161 max:178 shoes: Saucony Ride 5

6*1km (90s)
Felt a bit crap in the legs but ground out the session. Gradual uphill in the first 3 with a couple of hills. Second 3 had some uphill in but mainly downhill.
3:30, 3:40, 3:56 (big hill)
3:38 (big hill), 3:35, 3:30
Bit of a change from the last time I tried to do anything like this when my lungs were the main sticking point. Heart rate isn't quite as high as I'd expect from this session but means that once I sort myself out then I should be able to get the pace back
