Windy Gyle Fell Race 1st
Was feeling quite up for this after missing last weekend, been feelnig a lot better these last few days also.
Set off pretty hard with Cam Taylor and a DFR guy, and was leading to the first marshal. Took a different line up the first hill and dropped just behind those two. They started to pull away a little towards Murder Cleugh but ended up with them again on the climb back out of there. Two others had joined us at this point, and I again took a different line to Cam up the hill. Ended up on the right line but got scared so veered off toward them otherwise I would have been a bit clear.
Cam pulled away going up Windy Gyle and took me with him a little but was caught on the pull around to Mozie Law. Ended up with a group of 4 about 20s or so behind Cam at the start of The Street. Everyone veered offline contouring around Scald Law, I realised and climbed back up to the route and ended up in front of everyone. Caught Cam back up on the last little climb then gutted myself on the descent to hold everyone off. The last little road section hurt a lot. Very tired at the end but felt good

The first fell race I've ever won! Also was about 5:30mins quicker than the last time I raced this. Need to try keep this going as I'm back feeling good with my running again, although my knee has had a bit of a reaction to it with blood clotting in my scar
