Note

Got a bit bored at home so decided to go to Scotland to start my dissertation and try to shock my body in to working as I want it to again

Fell running 2:50:00 [3] 18.2 km (9:20 / km) +1480m 6:38 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-talons 212

Carn Mairg Group
Up Meall nan Aighean, Meall Liath, Carn Mairg, Meall a' Bharr, Meall Garbh and Carn Gorm. Pretty exhausted by the end.
Bumped in to a member of Interlopers in the car park

Felt absolutely awful when I woke up but got gradually better as the day wore on so decided to get out and try to reinvigorate my body.
Didn't really know where to run so just set off and played it by ear. Decided to push a little bit on a few climbs to check it out.
Whickham Bank: 5:20 (1min slower than best)
Hollinside: 2:32 Great little climb with a steep steppy section going to do this more often
Clockburn Lonnen: 5:56 Quickest ever I think(?)

Knee was a little sore towards the end

Hillier run to see how I was feeling....head still not right especially downhill where it feels like my brain is just knocking around. But decent everywhere else.

Managed to time it so the entire time was spent in today's monsoon whilst it was really sunny all the other time

Decided against racing tomorrow as I don't think I'd do myself justice.
Pretty gutted as I've never not raced something when I could physically run but been umm-ing and ah-ing all week about it since tuesday and decided that it would be best to save myself and work towards my goals of Wasdale and the Scottish 6-days.

Jog along the railway track before and after

Had planned to do a 3km down the railway track, but felt absolutely awful so gave up at 2km (6:40), which is 30s slower than I was repping at the start of the season.
Then had a 5min jog recovery down to Rowlands Gill
Then did 2*500m which were equally poor...1:51, 2:06 (actually 600m, it appears I can't count). With 2mins recovery in between
Not quite sure what is wrong with me as my legs are feeling fine, even the knee/shin after a short warm-up, it just feels like my chest and head are just constantly off

Easy down to the lake, a few drills and strides.....Had planned to double up today but woke up very late so my body obviously wouldn't have been too happy.
Joints and muscles still sore from Kinder
