ahr:153 max:177

Cycling again. Went upto Sunniside and over the back to Old Ravensworth on Pennyfine Lane, across to Kibblesworth and back over the hill to Sunniside again. Down three step and up into Whickham, and around fellside park and home.

Cycling 20:12 [4] 7.5 km (2:42 / km) +61m 2:35 / km

Had to get out and do something so tested if my feet hurt pushing on the pedals. Success!! :)
Timed it perhaps 10mins too late though as it was possibly a little bit dangerous towards the end, no light and going dark. Also my chain came off and it took like two minutes to get back on, not happy!
Got off my bike and my leg nearly collapsed, havent felt like that in a long time, pleased all the same.

Running 45:00 [4] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

Run along the beach barefoot was going good until I noticed a huge flap of skin flapping on my foot so looked at it and it was bright red and bleeding so walked back to the car...freezing

Then I found that I had the same on the other foot. 8/10toes now have huge blood blister on them.....I HATE THE BEACH!

Running hills (The Bankies) 58:15 [4] 11.11 km (5:15 / km) +300m 4:37 / km
ahr:157 max:187 shoes: Asic GT 2140

Did a run which is similar to Kirstin's 30 signs as a concept. Ran out to the Lobley hill then down to the swimming baths. Then did hill reps up the four biggest roads I could find;
Dunston Bank (420m 56m climb (13%) 2:24mins
Duckpool Lane (380m 44m climb (12%) 2:20mins
Lambton Avenue (520m 64m climb (12%) 3:05mins
Whickham Bank (870m 112m " (13%) 4:52mins

Then did one final token hill effort up to my house:
Broom Lane (200m 12m climb (6%) 0:54mins

Whipped out my shorts for the first time this year and realised now that lycra rules :P Set off a little too fast as it was a bit cold but then remembered what was a head of me so slowed down. Didn't push the hills at full boar as I knew the last 'proper' hill was the worst, but upon reaching the top I didn't stop either glancing at my watch so I knew how long then jogged off back down the hill. Quite enjoyed it in a sadistic way and felt I was running quite well but not the brilliant feeling you have before your ill either so I'm hoping that short rest has killed it off :D

Note
(rest day)

Talent squad selections are out and didn't get in.
Any mistakes the people selected make I'm going to take nail them!

Also bollocks just realised that I should have gone for a run tonight but misread my training plan :(

Tuesday Jan 19, 2010 #

5 PM

Running tempo 1:00:00 [4] 12.6 km (4:46 / km) +68m 4:38 / km
ahr:171 max:184 shoes: Asic GT 2140

Run upto Ryton and back (most of the way). I had been feeling really tired all day after yesterday probably and was in two minds about going out. Then decided to and felt great, was roughly running at the same pace on the way out as I was on the way back but started to tire once I got back to Blaydon and had to struggle to make it through the hour. But got there :)

Note: Then had a really long slow uphill walk all the way home

Monday Jan 18, 2010 #

9 AM

Running 35:23 [3] 6.51 km (5:26 / km) +55m 5:13 / km
ahr:168 max:178 shoes: Asic GT 2140

Morning run from school down to Denton Burn and back up via the A167.

Heart rate was a bit high but I couldn't feel like I could run any slower.
5 PM

Swimming 50:00 [2] 1.0 mi (50:01 / mi)

Running 12:56 [3] 1.91 km (6:46 / km) +80m 5:36 / km
ahr:153 max:167 shoes: Innov8's

Back home from the swimming pool again. Dunston Bank wasn't too bad tonight got up it quickly without realising. The fields were horrible, too wet and muddy to go decently. Will be much better in the summer when it's harder

Sunday Jan 17, 2010 #

9 AM

Running tempo 55:13 [4] 10.05 km (5:30 / km) +75m 5:18 / km
ahr:170 max:182 shoes: Innov8's

Run to my grans early morning (for me). Was quite clear up in Whickham so I thought maybe the railway track would be but got onto it and it was sheet ice all the way upto Hamsterly Mill. Stacked it twice but had a fun time. Felt really tired to begin with but managed to keep a strong pace going throughout. I dont think I'm too far down on my record even though there was loads of ice, I reckon without ice I would have been 10mins quicker.

Thursday Jan 14, 2010 #

7 PM

Running 46:35 [3] 7.83 km (5:57 / km) +121m 5:31 / km
ahr:163 max:186 shoes: Innov8's

Night Run :D
Off down to the lake through the fields then up the old railway track. Then up through Hollinside to the trig point. Turned my headtorch off in the last field so the farmer didn't see me. Then back down to Sunniside and down Lobley Hill Road to Marshall Lands turn off and across the fields to Broom Lane and home.

Really good fun first run I've done round mine in the dark off road and enjoyed it :D

Felt pretty good, going upto the top of the hill I was feeling tired but think thats due to the snow. Didn't feel ill at all really, but it was freezing when I set off

Wednesday Jan 13, 2010 #

6 PM

Swimming 50:00 [2] 1.5 km (33:20 / km)

7 PM

Running 13:00 [3] 1.91 km (6:48 / km) +80m 5:38 / km
shoes: Innov8's

Run home from the swimming baths via the fields. Took it really steady and got to use my headtorch, kinda it was light enough to see without it but just incase. Dunston Bank is a bitch!

Tuesday Jan 12, 2010 #

Note

Was going to go for a decent lengthed run but my mum talked me out of it and I felt really depressed :(

Easy jog down to Watergate and back iwth my mum. Watergate had completely frozen looked well nice. Then came back up the valley and along the road.

Fell running race 21:34 [5] 3.4 km (6:21 / km) +220m 4:48 / km
shoes: Falcons A

Greenmantle Dash
Came 13th out of quite a big field. Scott Fraser won, Duncan Coombs 2nd, Doug Tullie 3rd.

Went off at quite a decent pace as there wasn't much room. Then once I hit the lower slopes sped up but found I was going backwards. Going up the steep bit (20%) it was knee deep snow, and chained out so not many oppourtunities to overtake but I got a few people. Coming down was great fun, used my heather running technique to bound down it really fast overtook one preson but fell over twice :P. Hit the bottom slopes ok but when I reached the road I just died and had no strength left, just managing to hold off Mark Mccleod (9secs). So quite pleased.

Won a crate of beer :D

Fell running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.87 km (6:58 / km)
shoes: Falcons A

Run round the easy bit of the route beforehand with Kirstin and Ian
Run up to the start and back after with Kirstin to pick her top up

Friday Jan 1, 2010 #

Running long 1:01:00 [4] 9.3 km (6:34 / km) +107m 6:12 / km
ahr:158 max:167 shoes: Walshes 3

New Years day run with Ian, Kirstin and Kirstin's cousin Tom (who is rapid, even if he was only in shorts)

Went up into Lanton, out the back to the Hawick road then across the old bridge and along the Monteviot drive thing. Then through the woods and field to the 'jooggly brig' and through the fields to Kirstin's grannies house.

Deep snow throughout the run, and quite hard work when Ian and Tom pushed on up the last field started to feel a bit crap then.

Running long 13:05 [3] 2.25 km (5:49 / km) +52m 5:13 / km
ahr:157 max:176 shoes: Walshes 3

Run back from Kirstin's grannies with Ian and Kirstin after lunch. But Kirstin then started to drop back a bit. I had to be manly though and stick with Ian :P
