Orienteering race 2:18:00 [4]
With a lot more black on this area of the map, the orienteering was much more challenging. Very hard to match boulders to map and the black on map made contours very hard to read. Tough day for me. Made mistakes on 1, 2, 5, and 9 but 'survived' until #11, dot knoll. #11, took safest route (trail run) got to stone ruin cleanly - firmest attackpoint - attacked twice, missed. Tried about 5 other attacks. Found it finally - very discouraged.
After very confident run Saturday, never got into same mind frame today. Rustiness showed - just not enough woods training and A-meets lately.
Also, Saturday's mild twist/tweak of right knee really bothered me for first 20 minutes - every step. Finally 'went away', fortunately. Felt pretty good physically after race, much better than last week - mostly because Canada had a lot more climb and swamps.
