Cycling 38:00 [2]

To and from Soulard on grey, no-wind, cool day. Good excuse to get out of house.
Watched Rampage mountain-bikiing in Zlon NP on TV - unbelievable drops, jumps, and stunts.

Walking 3:30:00 [2]

Hiked the bike trails of Matson Hill - first time. Trail closed to bikes until end of day. Lots of long switchbacks to keep the gradient down for bikers.

Cycling 1:05:00 [2]

To Union Station to catch the "Big River" symposium. 50+ experts and 'interested' parties plus 3-4 members of the general public. Good power point presentations showed extent of problems and the many agencies addressing them. Free coffee and lunch.

A couple errands, then to Arch to check out Lewis, Clark, and Seaman. With drought, they are now 25m from river and perhaps 20 ft above river level - rarely has the MR been this low - barge shipping south of STL threatened. Back home.

Walking 2:30:00 [2]

Another beautiful 55F day for hike with Sierra Club at Castlewood. 45 showed up - new record! Lots of hills and good views.

Cycling 1:30:00 [2]

Legs needed a rest. To and from the Loop was just what II needed. 75 degrees, very strong south wind. Dec. 3!

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3]

Team pick-up of SQ controls. Great day. Thanks to Emily, Dave, and Bill!

I got the easy leg. Still bobbled two controls - ugh. Approaching from a new direction does make a difference.
