Orienteering 4:00:00 [2]

AM - Telling all deer that I saw, "Hide, firearm season begins tomorrow!" Unfortunately I only saw one and she ran away before I could warn her. Ie I checked a few more SQ trails that I'd only seen the trailheads for. The deer I did see were great to talk too - mostly securing their favorite site for their trailer (and beer, I presume)

PM: Vetted Trout Lodge map with Mark has he designed his Sprint (or Short Middle) course.

Orienteering 5:30:00 [2]

Vetting controls and mostly mapping new ATV trails at Shirley Quad. 60 degrees, leaves down, and no chiggers is a LOT more pleasant than when I visited this summer.

Swimming 24:00 [3]

Shorter length, stronger pace - felt good.

Machines 36:00 [3]

12 double sets at Y.

Treadmill 21:00 [3]

First time on treadmill in a while and first double-aerobic at Y in a while. Intervals: 10:30 at 0% and 9:00 at 3%.

Orienteering 1:18:00 [4] 6.7 km (11:39 / km) +245m 9:51 / km

Strong run at Meremac State Park. Consistent - running felt very good. Edged Tim G by 1 minute. No significant errors.

Some hesitation approaching 6 (tops of reentrants seemed too large and too high) & 7 (didn't have a firm attack point - "High enough yet?" - route via trail (faster) and on left side (firm AP) looks better. I saw the trail option but did not read the better finish.) 9-10: Push to road worked but it was a bit of another 'sloppy last leg' syndrome.

Sunny & warm - what a great day be orienteering!
