Orienteering race 1:08:20 [4]
Green course at Babler. Huge turnout. I ran early so I could do Finish later - worked out well.
Smooth run - focused on reading ahead and continue to read on climbs and ridges - worked well. Read and used large features well to ind small features.
Only a couple 1-minute errors and a couple hesitations. Worst error was at #1. Chose road, told myself "Don't leave road until stream road junction.". Then left road at least 100m too soon in order to 'cut corner'. 100m+ on road would have been a lot faster than the underbrush. Lesson: pay attention to myself.
Climb, dead-fall, and underbrush made course very physical. Physically felt fine but few opportunities to run - ridge run down from 5 to 6 felt real good.
