Orienteering race 2:58:30 [4]

3 hour Turkey O' at Meramec. Great course by Gary.

Afraid of rain and cold. Only about 1 hour of light rain in middle. Stayed in 60's (34 tonight predicted). Two layers and windbreaker around waist (in case of heavy rain) worked well. Cliff Bar at 90 minutes. Small camel-back and one water stop.

First chose long northerly route. Chose to avoid flat valley in south - often too green and lots of errors in past - missed lots of points - Mark G did it nicely. At 10 minutes, changed mind. Too late to rewrite course. Ad-libbed course. Worked pretty well. Out via central and near north; back along road. Mostly good route choices and execution. Past #2 at 1 hour. Two major errors. 2->24->37 went well; had chosen to skip 26, changed mind, then missed it really bad left. Returned to (didn't realize I'd been there!). Still got to 39 with 1 hour left. From 28 to 36, chose trail over road - bad choice. Though I had good sense of distance and very alert at each reentrant, missed 36 twice. Relocated and hit it third time - seemed too many points to give up. This made time really tight. Pushed to end, good execution coming in.

Overall satisfied - 420 points. Even with ots of climb, energy held up.

To and from Y on 'last' beautiful day. Got some raking and cleanup done too.

Machines 33:00 [3]

11 double sets at Y. 4 time in one month - better than usual! Back feels be than usual.

11 double sets - felt good.

Swimming 28:00 [2]

7 sets of 6 - found good rhythym in 3rd set. Shared lane with strong, fast woman (30?) doing all four strokes non-stop - impressive!

Running 10:00 [2]

Ran some laps on indoor Y track, including a few fast ones. It's been a long time! This felt better than recent outdoor running. Maybe this will get me moving more indoors & outdoors
