2 sets of: 2@5.5; 2@6.5; 2@7.5 at 2% climb. Easy pace workout to finish up at Y.
Talked to Escanaba's only 2010 Boston Marathon entrant: 45-year old Denise. She was on elliptic and on treadmill.
Wanted to do Lake Michigan run but north wind was a bit brisk - better in woods. About 45 degrees.
Tried to do Days' River Loop 2 backwards: 1/4 on Loop; 1/2 very lost on snowmobile and logging roads (without compass or sun was depending on "wind out of north" and "clear skies to south" (Lake Michigan) for sense of direction). I did have major catching features S, E, and W; 1/4 back on trail.
Red Pine planted forests are amazingly open. Subltle terrain features, soft ground. Bit like sand hills of western Canada.
Did loop 2 at Days' River CC course near Gladstone (as arch-enemies, we used to call it Happy Rock). Near 60 degrees! Dry, pretty firm, virtually no leftover snow/ice. 1 year ago, I spent Spring Break here getting 2 inches of ice off of mom's sidewalks!
