Orienteering race 1:05:10 [3]

"On the way" back from Green Bay, I stopped at BGR meet at Blue Mounds SP, west of Madison. Nice event. A smooth, clean race was a confidence builder. I maintained focus on plan a route, check-off features and pace-count. Could have pushed pace more, but slash, light green, and inconsistent footing made walking appealing. Joe S ran 42, Kevin T ran 45.

Running 31:10 [3]

Counterclockwise around Tower Grove. Very cool plus north wind - first day of autumn. Read NH map - Fran's Day 2 Brown.

Lesson: read Contours, contours, contours.

Running 38:10 [2]

Morning run in Forest Park felt sluggish until last 10 minutes. 75 with high humidity.

Good map reading of Beaver Brook NH map. Shakey but not disastrous (except #8) day 2 Geen run.
Lessons: From firm attackpoint (eg trail) do not just drift into control circle. Check off features.
In 'no man's land' of confusing terrain, check off features - use pace count.
