Running warm up/down 11:00 [1]

Orienteering 20:12 [4]

Reran Sprint course at UMSL. Dead stop and pause at each control to simulate E-punch.

Ran 20:12 versus about 22:40 officially.

Faster: Knew course, no errors.
Slower: Less adrenaline and incentive.

Gained 17 to 32 seconds each on four minor errors at A-meet. Other 14 legs, gained total of 57 seconds. Hmm, run-in today was 9 seconds faster - hot and wasted last time?

Jog from parking lot to 'start' at Hawn SP

Orienteering 35:00 [4]

Ran 7 longish legs at Hawn. Hung tapes for Rudy.
Good to be on a 1:10000 map. Planned and executed routes with confidence - much better than last week.

Orienteering 50:00 [2]

Rough time estimate. Shadowed on alternate controls with Rudy. Spent lots of time discussing planning routes, aiming off, and using attack points. (He didn't know about fast-setting thumb compasses - will buy one ASAP!)

For lack of recent running, pace and endurance felt good. Down to 175 pounds helps.
