Orienteering 30:00 [4]

UMSL - Ran Team Trails sprint course in reverse order. 20:44, about 2 minutes fast than on meet day. No errors, less hesitancy. Bit warmer today. Tried 3-4 'alternate' routes from last time. Anna started 2 minutes back. I stressed that she needed to 'look ahead'. Good job - she caught me at 6; then gained another 30 seconds from 6 to start.

UMSL - designed and ran short srpint course on southern side of map. 9:07 Anna started 2 minutes back; Due to error, she ran about 9:30.

Orienteering 1:06:30 [4]

Hawn Day 3 Green course - ran course and set tapes for Anna. Bit surprised that my time of 66 minutes was 8 minutes slower than meet day. Reasons: adrenaline; motivation (it counted last time); ran 4+ legs with Orlyn last time - pushed the pace; hanging tapes did take 15-20 seconds each but also interupted the flow out of the controls; 5-10 degrees warmer and humid; lost focus since I 'knew' the course.

Errors: rough bearings were erratic - did not glance at compass frequently enough, perhaps becasue i 'know' this leg. As I tired I seriously misjudged lengths on 11 and 12 - base count and better bearing would have helped.

Good news - 58 minutes on Hawn Day 3 was a really good run for me!

Running (Map reading) 50:00 [3]

50 minute tour of Forest Park, reading my Green course from the 'Ledges' near Cleveland a couple years ago. Numerous great examples of not using attack points because I wasn't planning legs. Also, looked ahead once at most. Ugh! Good map reading exercise.
