Orienteering race 23:26 [5] 4.33 km (5:25 / km)
shoes: Adidas Adizero Pro

SA sprint champs at Waite.

Drinking beer for 11 hours yesterday was probably not the best preparation for this, but still felt ok in the morning. Very hot and humid, so glad the starts were moved an hour early to 9am. 2 laps of the car park as warm up and I had sweat dripping off me.

Felt slow for much of the race and couldn't seem to get any pace up, even on the long straight roads. Went the wrong way to 1 after watching Dante and Nick both go that way. Found it hard to read the tracks on 3 and 4. Caught Nick 3 mins at 15, which I didn't expect, then lost him to 16 on better route choice. Caught Dante 5 mins at 18 and didn't see him after 20. Went the wrong way around the building 18 to 19, thought there was a gap to come in from east at 19, but wasn't. Clean through the bearing legs in the trees at the end. Pretty happy with the run, but should be faster than that.

Cycling 32:00 [3] 17.0 km (31.9 kph) +45m

To work. Legs very tired this morning, so took it a bit easier.
2 PM

Cycling 38:38 [3] 17.0 km (26.4 kph) +225m

Home from work. Legs still tired, so took it easy. Didn't make much difference to the time.

I have been told I have to drive tomorrow to have a rest.

Cycling 30:36 [3] 17.0 km (33.3 kph) +45m

To work. Legs a little bit tired this morning and a couple of the "hills" seemed harder than normal. I am also tired after staying up way too late last night.

Trying to ride to work every day to save some money because I have none left.
2 PM

Cycling 37:12 [3] 17.0 km (27.4 kph) +225m

Home from work. A bit tired and was going to take it easy, but I can't do that.

Cycling 29:36 [3] 17.0 km (34.5 kph) +45m

To work. A lot less stops today, only 4 red lights. Worked out an easier and safer way to turn right from NE to GJ, only taken me 2 years of riding to work.
2 PM

Cycling 37:07 [3] 17.0 km (27.5 kph) +225m

Home from work. Left an hour earlier today and the traffic was much nicer (too early for school pick up). Didn't go quite as hard up the hills because of running later.
6 PM

Running 39:52 [3] 7.25 km (5:30 / km) +300m 4:33 / km
shoes: Adidas Kanadia 7

Morialta. Felt ok after riding and didn't need as much warm up as normal. Slightly slower to deep view than last week, but expected that. Angus had to get back early, so didn't go all the way to 3rd falls and no stops from deep view.

Cycling 31:07 [3] 17.0 km (32.8 kph) +45m

To work. A lot of slowing down and speeding up today, got stopped at 11 of the 16 traffic lights, with most in the first half.
3 PM

Cycling 37:48 [3] 17.0 km (27.0 kph) +224m

Home from work. Even more stopping on the way home, although most of it was in 2 spots. Had to wait 3 full cycles at Main North rd, then 2 of 3 lanes blocked on North East rd for roadworks made it hard for cars turning from Grand Junction, and had to wait 3 or 4 cycles. Could have gone on the footpath, but I don't like to, it seems unsafe for pedestrians and unsafe for me to rejoin the road. Happy with time considering a bit of slow riding.
