Note

Swim at Pronie Loch with IW, SF and AS for IW’s last of his daily April swims. Ten minutes worth I guess.

Plenty S&C supplementing the consumption dyke in the garden…watching my back…and toes.

Loch Treig Loop

Half regretted not sticking an entry in for Balmoral races, but then seeing the forecast for over west decided it was worth a trip.
Toyed with various options for the vicinity of Fersit / Loch Treig since its not so far away. Discounted Corrour train options on account of Sunday timetable and plumped for a circuit of Loch Treig.

2.15 to Fersit from home on a Sunday morning so on the hill for soon after 9. Heading a/c.

Easy up Stob a' Choire Mheadhoin (+1hr.35) with clouds coming and going across the high tops. Chilly wind. Down and up 'Easain (1.55) with quick chat to guy who I'd caught up there. He asked if I had a torch for what I planned - it was still only about 11.30 - I did anyway :-)

Long drop down to the head of the loch, grab water refill, watch a train go by and a bit of a slog up Beinn na Lap (4.25). Warming up now with lots more sun. Then another long descent before very steep climb up Chno Dearg (5.56). Met my 2nd and 3rd folk fo the day as they were descending the top part. Now warm with 360 views and great clarity of Rannoch Moor, near and distant lochs, and snow speckled hills.

Over to Stob Coire Sgriodain (6.31) - caught up the same two guys at the summit - lots of photo stops as weather brilliant now with spectacular views of the loch below before a bit of a rough descent on tired legs.

Grand round, grand day. Legs fairly shot. Good decision based on weather at home too.
