From the B&B to Elsdon for this one. Not very hard hence the 5/10 rating.
I went onto Otterburn and then Kielder Water. Had a break and then the same route back. I felt good for all the hills right to the end so happy with this.

Bike hills 2:01:40 [3] 32.47 mi (3:45 / mi) +768m 3:29 / mi
ahr:151 max:179

19 and 20/100
Dartmeet 6/10, 1.02km long with 119m climb
Widecombe 7/10, 1.45km with 163 climb
I started from Princetown, 2 bridges, Dartmeet, Widecombe, Novel Tracey and Exeter.
The 2nd climb was a bugger and it took me twice as long as the record set by Mr Boardman although that is said to be still good.
A tiring day and unfortunately my rear mech got too close to the wheel and had to abort the ride in Exeter. Shame it was on the last climb before another planned 2 hours on the flat towards Bristol.
NP 199.

Note

Saw the Surgeon this morning and he is very pleased. I can now do calf drops to the ground pretty much pain free but am allowed to use a step and go the full range. He also said I can start running up to 5 km but I will give it a few more weeks to let it strengthen first.

Bike 2:40:20 [3] 46.6 mi (3:26 / mi) +833m 3:16 / mi
ahr:162

Used the same caps as yesterday and all went well. It feels easier than normal going up hills but it gives me more energy later on.
These are
180-200 flats
up to 250 on inclines and small hills.
max 300 on all big hills.
160-200 on down hills which makes up a lot of time.
Out to Esher, Cobham, West Horsley, Whitedowns, Leith, Coldharbour, Dorking, Box Hill finishing at Cobham train station.

After a lap warm up I put in 3 reps from the Robin Hood Gate to the car park near Roehampton gate into a slight wind.

I started off in Ambleside and went straight up Kirkstone Pass. This was an extra 100m than the official hill in the book at 380m. When I got to the top there was no way I was in any state to go down the other side just to come back up again. Followed the road to Kendal afterwards.

I did bartholemeu route from the Lakes but I also went up Newlands Hause as well.
When I got back from the ride I found that I also bagged Whinlatter Pass which was a nice surprise.
Whinlatter Pass 231m gain at 5/10. Was a pleasant hill in the woods.
Newlands Hause 205m at 8/10 with very nice views up the valley.
Honister Pass 239m at 9/10. This was pleasant to start with but just got steeper towards the top finishing at 25%.
Very good route but I must start eating and drinking as I only had a banana, bar and one bottle which led to a crawl back from Keswick.
