I think I can now class myself as injured!! the operation went well and he didn't have to detach the achillies:-) so rather than 4 weeks in plaster and 3 months no impact, it's now 2 weeks in plaster and no impact for 7 weeks:-) BACK IN THE GAME:-):-):-)-)

Out to the Hen & Chicken then back past the Shepherd & Flock and the Duke.
Was a bit of a struggle going up towards the Duke on the hill and really felt it from yesterday.

Straight off the bike.
I was going to take this a bit steady but after a couple of 100 yards I was at 6 min pace so kept it going.
5.59 and 5.45. Very surprised at the 2nd mile.
My chest was tight I think from being on the bike.
Can't wait for tomorrows tempo now:-)

Note

Todays training shows that I'm not in bad shape. It's just a shame that I'm injured so wont be able to race much as I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow(Thanks Doc) for a consultation for a probable operation.
I just dont want to let this fitness go:-(

Think they made a difference with the time.

Bike hills 56:30 [5] 12.85 mi (4:24 / mi)

10 reps of Staples Lane.
Tough Tough session.
After 3 and 4 I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the session.
I'm not saying it got easier but I think I got into the zone and did well.
The first 2 reps were 5.33 and the average was 5.39 so not too much slowing down.

Nice course on at times a good area. Only a couple of small errors of 30 secs.

SOG 11. Blue.
Tried to take it as a steady run but pushed a few times.
Only real loss was at 3 where my hat got pulled off by a tree and I lost concentration putting it back on. 45 secs.
Not a great area but a good course though.

Started at Newlands and followed the A25 to Dorking. Did 3 reps up Ranmore and then back again. Tough session.
All 3 were between 8.45 and 8.50 with about a 12 min turnaround.

Feeling stronger now and ready to up the sessions.

So I saw the Doc tonight and the rehab on my achillies hasn't worked. It more than likely needs chopping off so now just waiting for a referral to the surgeon.
So at least I can now run on it as it won't make any difference, so I did this....

Achillies only hurt for the first 5mins.

Did the blue loop of the New Forest Middle Tri that I'm hoping to do in Sept.
My legs were battered from yesterdays session which didn't help nor the decision to wear only one pair of gloves. I was going to do the red loop aswell but made the right choice not to.

4 laps of Ballbuster. 1 steady, 2 hard and the last 1 steady. Felt good and was pleasantly surprised at the last one even though it didn't feel that hard. 29.40, 27.50, 27.55 and 28.20.
