Caw Brown.

One does not simply jump straight back into Lakeland orienteering. In general I'm getting to the circle OKish then have little idea. Sometimes quite a bit too high/low, and working out the rock mapping was harder than yesterday. Was also co fusing myself with streams and marshes at a few points. Think I only really nailed 2 cobtrols (one visible from a way away) but still good fun. Shape not too bad but still feeling a bit tired.

Collecting some controls. Then down for a pint of cask Waino. Lovely stuff.

You know when you stand in the Duddon carpark and look at some rough looking lumps in the foreground? Well that's where we were chasing flags. Good stuff. Just about managed to remember how lakeland mapping works. Kept it as easy as possible but steep hills aren't that easy to keep easy. Didn't look at my map or compass much but managed to find the controls relatively OK.

Note
slept:7.75 (sick)

Felt fine waking and drive to work. Then started feeling a bit ropey around 10am. Then was sick after lunch (some GI bug probs) and this led to my pass-out trick. Normally I'd just recover but being at work the site services came to sort me out and I was packaged off for a&e. Bloods alright (just infection markers) but ECG had them keep me overnight. Aparrently my trace looks a bit like a heart attack but I 'evidently didn't have one of those' and it's likely due to being a well trained individual. No issues carrying on running but been referred for an MRI just to check there's nothing that could cause issue in future. The pass out is a standard response to vommiting for me (either illness or alcohol induced...) and I've had no issue returning from it before, but will be good to find out more about my 'super trained' heart!

Main upshot was a poor nights sleep so still feeling a bit ropey as not had time to shift the bug! Wondering if I could have chosen a water source in Sunday's race a bit better.
