Running - Trail 6:21:11 intensity: (13:11 @0) + (6:08:00 @2) 63.96 km (5:58 / km) +1476m 5:21 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Lyke Wake, heading east. The overnight 'storm' subsided and I had pretty much perfect running conditions with a gentle cross tailwind and only 15mins of rain.
Trail Runner fancy dress again, pack a bit faffier with more gear in it due to changeable weather. Hannah met me mid way fot a water and food top-up as was unsure of the water statis/quality en route. There were a few ok streams/rivers in the 2nd half though.

Went over the Cleveland hills which is the purist route, but not necessary for the race (where the cps are the start, end and road crossings only). Decent running to half way, after which it got a bit muddier, boggier and broken in places. Kept moving OK and was dollying along quite happily at the end feeling quite good.
6.12 total from stone to stone. 6.21 total down to the Ravenscar Hotel. Pleased with the time, close to winnine times I've seen. Will have to find more info on record (best I've seen is 5.50ish but not seen all results)

Ultb11. Lower back pain creeped back in. Thankfully today was lower back. Also been using some AthleneX exercises to try and nix it.

I've been enjoying the miles and climb of late but started to feel a bit stale and hankering after running quicker at a sustainable pace. Did 5x8 (1) tempo on the back lanes. All much of a muchness when taking undulations into account (3.37-3.56 pace). Really enjoyed it and felt good on the run back. Hilly tempos are OK and useful but can feel too much of a grind and sometimes I'll hit a steeper climb and feel like I've ground to a halt.

Daytrip to the lakes to see the Bradley clan. Stinky hot and humid then is started pissing it down as we started running and it was bliss!
Similar route to my 30th, taking in Burnbank, Blake and gavel. Visibility was similar to December 2018 as well!

Moors from Gribdale with Pete. Felt okay considering how tired I felt earlier. Hopefully I don't pay for this. Beautiful evening.
