Put some grip on and enjoyed myself much more than the last couple of runs sliding about in trailies. Trail Runner fancy dress, think I have a system that works well enough to not need to shell out on another pack. Practised with gels from 2h on and no stomach issues. At this pace anyway.

Over to Guisborough to play in the woods. Bumped into Joe Blackett (3rd time this lockdown?) at the bottom of the Grunt and an easier pace up that with him freshened my legs up a bit for the 2nd half of the run.

Another mile of vert in the bank. Feeling alright, legs a bit heavy and a bit tired but glut work seems to have solved the back pain and I've got a week off now - good for time on feet and also recovering/sleeping better.

Woke with a sore back which was disconcerting. Does this mean I am officially old?

Finally got round to ultb5 which was not the one to go in to off a week break, and did some back stretching, core and glutes. Quads seem a bit tired so have stopped using glutes when running this week. Tried to rectify this on run.

Get out get it done get yam weather. 30min tempo under and up CCM. Segment times not too bad considering weather and feeling, and even a bit quicker than before on the last section when I thought I was crawling.

1h feels barely worth it!

First day WFH. Not much done but not much to do. Been daydreaming about some of my best runs recently, Kinder Downfall in 2016 (?) where Little Rob and I ran under 69 mins and he did me in the last 300m has been the go to - one of those days where everything just felt so smooth, good and fast.

Felt better just putting my running gear on. A colleague did say I looked a bit rough today. Maybe it's the hair and beard. An old lady I passed when out said I looked fit though so swings and roundabouts.

Been feeling a bit unco since Thursday and felt no need or compulsion to run today. Done a lot of eating, mainly sugar and carbs which probably isn't helping too much.
