Got my weekend work done early to maximise post- work cricket watching

Viking chase 4 peaks. 4 minutes slower than I was when this was my first race win way back in 2011. A good honest solo effort today whereas 8 years back I was chasing/being chased in late September when I'm normally quicker (and I'd just been dumped so maybe some rage running as well.)
Ended up a couple of minutes ahead of my colleague Carloine Lambert, who had run low 18 at Parkrun and won and set the record at a race yesterday - so quite glad she had tired herself out a bit before today!

Fancy bank, Birks Brow and down Jenny Frisk lane. The silly names continued with Manless terrace and swilly lane. Then down to Saltburn so I could make a 'CX on the beach' joke. Back inland and round the back of Errington woods but I was turned back by some cows I didn't fancy risking with the bike, so a muddier route through the woods (which looked nicer than I remember from planning there 6 years ago.) A few cleat issues but sorted them in time to chew on bar tape up the climb from Wilton

5x 600 @5k pace in to 200 a bit quicker. 400 jog in about 2 mins.
2.03-06 for the 600, not much quicker for the 200s! Wary of humidity and overdoing it post cold. Felt alright if a bit leggy.

Batting about the woods. Plan for the next weeks is to hit as many ancillary paths as I can. Its become too easy to just cruise around the tracks and I'm becoming soft and missing out on climb.
