Proper job on Kinder with Sav, Megan and Josh. About 90% of this was new to me. First airing of a smelly helly for a while

The FRA want a wider array of ALs outside the Lakes for potential use as champs races, so Noel in Pennine came up with 'Groovy Kinder Love'. Burton invited me for a long run so I thought we'd have a look at the offering.
Now Noel is a specialist in shorter faster races. But it's obvious from this he has a devious streak in him. This race is a bit fiddly but it has everything - long runnable climbs; steep walking climbs; gentle fast descents; steeper, more rugged ones; easy obvious path routes; less obvious small trods; off-path heather bashing. If the mist's down finding some of the CPs could be interesting! It sticks mainly to Pennine territory, but has brief excursions to more natural Glossopdale and DP territories.

I think there's about 3 RCs up to Kinder Low. We took a sweeping right route, but muffed up the CP as I found the underpath I don't take that often and fancied running on that.

Anyway, 30th September if anyone fancies the race. I doubt I'll run as I'll be back late from holiday that morning, but never say never. I was wondering as we went around whether Noel designed the course with me in mind. Maybe a bit too much climb.

Easy around Burbage, Padley and Longshaw with Dan, refreshing a few lines. Found a gap in the weather so most enjoyable.
Wearing in a new pair of dancing shoes. My 10th(!!) pair of Xtalon 212s. Maybe I'll convert to Iroc2s at some point but I didn't find them as comfy and I've worked out how to make Xtalons last an acceptable length if I can get them for <£60.

Thought about a big day out but aware of biting off more than I can swallow and going too big too soon as your mum said to me the other day.
Rolling up and down Blacka with a bit of terrain thrown in.
Should probably jettison these shoes now.

Headed out to watch Pilsley 'fell' race as Craig was having a bash. Legs felt very good, though this may have been the pint I had before setting off. Did 6x~10s strides. Fantastic unbroken rainbow above Chatsworth.

Chatsworth would be a fantastic XC course.

Along Burbage edge for a bit, then 6 times up Higgar - 1 from the packhorse bridge and 5 up the plummet. Good steady walking.

Forge with Han. Body feeling OK, just need to catch up on a bit of kip.
Thesis submitted to printers. 260-odd pages with 60 or so more of bibliography and appendices. A lot of words for not a lot of outcome.
